I got my ticket to see Black Adam tomorrow night after work.
Is anyone else going to see this movie this weekend?
I usually go see the Star Wars movies and the superhero movies the night of release as otherwise my students (and I have an extra/7th class this year as I sold one of my Preps so I could make extra money) have a tendency to spoil these types of movies the next day (it happened again last May the day after the last Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was released.)

I do not go to new releases much these days. Especially since the theater I would go for them stopped matinees during the week. I will probably catch this when it is released on DVD. It is the first DC movie I have been interested in since either Suicide Squad or Captain Marvel. Looking to see how they handle the JSA and how they fit into the DC movie universe.

I just got back home from Black Adam. I thought this movie was OK, not one of the best DC movies, but definitely better than some of the bad reviews I have seen for it (one of the top critics at Rotten Tomatoes gave it zero stars and said it might be the worst movie ever, trust me I have seen worst movies.)
I would give this movie a B-.
If you see this movie, stay for an extra mid-credits scene (it is a big one.)

I ended up deciding to go see it at the theater yesterday. I really enjoyed it. For me, it had a better mix of humor to action then recent Marvel movies. For the most part the comedy fit in and did not distract from what was going on.
On a side note I saw two trailers that were interesting. First was Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. I have mixed feelings about it. It looks like they are trying to make it "cool and hip" but I guess they have to do that to draw in the casual movie fan. At least it seems they are trying to make it seem like a D&D world. Plus, they have an Owlbear so that is pretty cool. The other trailer was for the next Shazam movie. I will not give it away but if you watch it pay attention to the scene in the pediatric doctors office. There is a fun cameo of sorts in there.
