A One night tournament of 3-Way matches for a chance at 25,000 Dollars DW: Professor, I've made some crazy deals but a shot at a $25,000 payday at the risk of that dirty turkey suit? Let's get to the action! First Round Three Ways
AJ Styles vs Homicide vs Christopher Daniels
No love lost between these three frequent competitors as all entrants scramble for an early opening. Jumbo Lariat from Homicide sends Daniels flying off the apron but gives Styles the advantage to roll Homicide into the Calf Killer, continually repositioning the hold back to the center of the six-sided ring. Homicide is eventually able to roll to the outside with Styles still hooked sending both men tumbling to the floor. Homicide able to regain advantage first and position for a jumping elbow from the second rope but Daniels intercepts and now it's Homicides turn to fly into a section of cheering Impact fans. Styles and Daniels are face to face with Styles gesturing for a handshake from his former partner. Daniels, a master of handshake psychology, is wise to the ruse and catches a kick from AJ before it can connect and reverses Styles into the ANGEL'S WINGS! Pin interrupted by a second huge lariat all the way from West Brooklyn by Homicide! As Homicide is removing Daniels from the ring, a groggy AJ imanari rolls Homicide into the Calf Killer for the submission victory and tournament advancement as Tenay and West curse out AJ for taking a shortcut.Styles submits Homicide via Calf Killer to advance
Chris Sabin vs Jay Lethal vs Frankie KazarianKazarian fires the opening salvo capturing Sabin in a rollup and Lethal in a Northern Lights Suplex combination for a double kickout. Lethal and Sabin whip Kazarian into the corner, but Kazarian dodges a Lethal spear causing Jay to eat ringpost and recover on the outside. Kazarian is not as fast or lucky for Sabin, as Sabin takes over Kazarian with a big powerbomb following in with a ranger roll into a firemans carry for the CRADLE SHOCK. 1...2...NO, Jay Lethal grabs Sabin and rolls him into the KOJI CLUTCH. Weakened but still the coolest, Kazarian makes the save with a slingshot legdrop to break the submission and hoofs Lethal to the outside. Wave of the Future attempted but Sabin reverses into a HAIL SABIN for the pinfall! Sabin pins Kazarian via HAIL SABIN to advance
Jerry Lynn vs Austin Aries vs Alex Shelley
A quick alliance between the two Kevin Nash proteges who immediately dispatch Lynn and then even more fluidly turn on one another. Aries with the early upperhand delivering a quick BRAINBUSTER to both respective opponents. Aries, looking for an early advance into the final round, ascends for a 450 SPLASH on his former Generation Next stablemate- but only connects with canvas! Shelley capitalizes on the downed Aries with a wrenching BORDER CITY STRETCH only to eat a boot from Lynn who further wreaks havoc on the worked over neck of Aries with a huge CRADLE PILEDRIVER for the 3 count.Lynn pins Aries via CRADLE PILEDRIVER to advance
Final Round Three Way
Jerry Lynn vs AJ Styles vs Chris SabinAJ attacks first right out of the gate catching Sabin with a discus lariat for a nearfall. Lynn regroups and connecting on both opponents with a legdrop. Series of dives and high risk spectacle from all three competitors culminating with a HUGE Spinal Tap by AJ to the outside. Styles grabs Lynn for the cover but the time and effort gives Lynn the wherewithal to kick out at 2.9. Styles grabs the ref by the collar to protest but is interrupted by Sabin. Sabin attempts to shoot Styles into the ropes but Styles holds on and spins Sabin into position for a jaw-cracking Pele Kick. Styles sees Lynn gather to his feet and goes in for the kill. Another Pele Kick from Styles- BUT LYNN CATCHES THE HEEL'S HEEL AND HOLDS ON FOR DEAR LIFE! Jerry Lynn twists Styles into the piledriver position by his opponents captured leg, Lynn clasps his hands and CRADLE PILEDRIVER! 1...2...3! Lynn takes it! Lynn pins Styles via CRADLE PILEDRIVER for the full montyTenay and West howl with joy and disbelief as Lynn raises the novelty giant check (will it bounce? who's to say) while Styles struggles to put on the blindingly tacky glittering turkey suit. |

Promoter's Notes: I used the Fray Match rules from the Evolve Handbook and deferred to the 3-way column for all matches.
Thanks for reading, I've been rewatching some of the 2006/2007 PPVs on TNA's Youtube and was reminiscing on a match I would consider to be a peak TNA-ism: The Styles/Sabin/Samoa Joe Turkey Bowl match from 2007. A great 3o minute match between 3 promising young talents...wrapped in a uniquely bizarre stipulation that also saw a young goofball heel AJ don an incredibly ugly costume. I couldn't find a decent clip to include but there's a great Cornette line to AJ "Put it fully on or you're fully fired" while he jumps up and down to show that its stuck on his gear. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving to all who participate!
