Finally got around to fitting this movie into one of my days off and saw it yesterday. Not a bad movie. Not great either. The negatives is they borrowed from other horror movies for part of the main idea. They had characters in this movie that seemed to be forgotten for stretches and only brought back when convenient for the story which is bad when only a few characters in the movie, in a few scenes people just act weird and finally they relied on jump scares a bit much. Now, on the plus side, some decent acting from the lead (Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick's daughter), a nice use of different camera angles to show the craziness of things, good special effects and a couple of the jump scares were done really good. In fact, one of the jump scares I expected but came in a different way than I expected. The movie has some creepy, unsettling parts but they did not do enough of those. I will also say that the opening before the credits is the best one I have seen since the Dawn of the Dead remake. Interesting enough but start at a hospital and IMO both openings could almost be a mini movie on their own. Overall I would not recommend rushing out to seeing this movie but if it is on cable or streaming or what have you it is worth a watch.
