From what I've seen, I like the boxes enough on the original set when the background outside the box has been lightened/blurred. I don't care for it on the Wolf example in the "How to Play" section because it isn't lighter. The lighter background on the outside makes whats in the box pop. Haven't seen the colored 2089's yet. I did notice that as well (the lightened and blurred). I do like that. I just think it's those 2089 cards with that huge line around it...kinda takes away from the background. I really liked the blurring outside the box too.. really added some depth, I think. Overall, I think keeping them the same, and adding color is the way to go, you don't want to mess with them too much, IMO.
