I went to this show last night with Will and his brother John.
I arrived in Seattle late Friday night. There was literally almost nobody on the plane (when I got to the gate and saw nobody there I actually thought I somehow missed my flight.) To give you an idea of how empty this plane was, I sat in row 20. First class was rows 1-3. There was nobody sitting in the 17 rows between me and First Class. I got alot of work done on that flight using my laptop as I was able to spread out and used the entire row (I sat my laptob up on the center seat tray, I put my mouse on the right seat tray, I put my beer on the left seat tray, etc. I am actually doing the exact same thing now as I am currently on my flight back to Las Vegas on another empty flight (it is during the Super Bowl.)
In Seattle this weekend, I stayed at my parents house. On Saturday afternoon I went to a movie with my mom in downtown Seattle. We saw Missing, that was a good movie with some good twists that I will not spoil. We then went back home where I started watching the NWA PPV Nuff Said (which I have now finished watching) until Will arrived to pick me up and go to Defy.
At Defy, we had general admission tickets which is standing room. I could not see anything where Will and John were standing (they are much taller than me lol) but then right before the show started I saw where I could stand behind the row of 3rd row seats and I got an excellent view standing 4 row behind the 3rd row of seats center of the ring- I could see everything really well except when the people in the seats stood up (mostly during ring entrances.)
Before the show started, Zack Sabre Jr. was doing a meet and greet and he surprised me by saying he remembered me from PWG. I used to talk to ZSJ alot at PWG, but he has not been there for years. I gave him copies of his updated card from 2018 and he autographed my copy of his updated card (he had previously autographed my copy of his original card years ago at PWG.) But unfortunately, Jon Moxley was not out so I still have not met him.
some match results:
the ring announcer before the show said only in Defy can you hear a "recycle" chant, but that is not correct
Bollywood Boyz defeated Sinner and Saint. The Bollywood Boyz are also going to be at the GCW show I am attending next Saturday in Los Angeles.
Danika Diehard defeated Defy Womens Champion Vert Vixen by DQ. I was a little disappointed in this match. It should have been a better match IMO and I am not sure why Danika first wanted Vert counted out and then intentionally got Vert DQd when she was trying to win the title from Vert. I am a big Danika Diehard fan, she wrestled here in FSW as Danika Della Rouge where we have talked about our mutual ties to Seattle, but this was not a good match.
Artemis Spencer defeated Guillermo Rosas (a Defy regular who was subbing for the injured Eddie Kingston.)
Defy Tag Team Champions The Second Gear Crew (Mance Warner & Matthew Justice) defeated Midnight Heat in a Seattle street fight.
Nick Wayne defeated Cody Chhun. This was my second favorite match of the night.
Defy World Champion Swerve Strickland defeated Titus Alexander. This match kicked some serious a*s, definitely my favorite match of the night. Afterward, Nick Wayne appeared and challenged Swerve to defend the title against him on the April 8th Defy show.
Jon Moxley and Schaff defeat Davey Richards and Zack Sabre Jr. A really good main event.
After the show, I talked to a wrestler about something game related. I did not make any signings at last night's show, but there are 4 names on last night's show without cards yet that I had already signed.
At the show, Will and John were one of the rally winners. They got a box and the money went to support Jay Briscoe's family.
I could not eat at the show because they had this pretentious menu of some fancy crap mixed in onions (which I cannot eat) instead of having regular burgers, hot dogs, etc. So after the show we went to the Seattle-famous Dicks Drive In for some burgers.
It was great to see Will and John again last night. Defy is a great fed with a great atmosphere running in my old hometown of Seattle. I am returning to Seattle in the Summer (likely in June) and I will try to coincide that trip with another Defy show.

Sounds like a great time minus the poor concession's selection.
