Richard "Dick" Thoenen, a former MLB pitcher, passed away back on December 21st at the age 79. He pitched in the Phillies organization from 1963-1969. He pitched for the following professional teams and was a September call-up by the Philadelphia Phillies when he pitched 1 inning on September 16,1967 against the Dodgers at Connie Mack Stadium. Sam "Big Red" Silas, a former NFL defensive tackle in the NFL, passed away back on December 17th at the age of 83. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1963 to 1967, for the New York Giants in 1968, and for the San Francisco 49ers from 1969 to 1970. He went to one Pro Bowl during his eight-year career, and was selected to one All-Pro team. Silas also played for the Portland Storm in the World Football League in 1974. During his NFL career, he played in 100 games and started in 60 of those contests while recording 20 sacks during his career. Mr. Silas played for the following teams during his pro football career: 1963–1967 St. Louis Cardinals 1968 New York Giants 1969–1970 San Francisco 49ers

· Harry Holt a fomer CFL and NFL tight end, passed away at the age of 66 on November 24th. Holt was a football player in the CFL for five years and in the NFL for five years. Holt played tight end for the British Columbia Lions from 1978–1982, the Cleveland Browns from 1983–1986 and the San Diego Chargers in 1987. He played college football at the University of Arizona when he signed a letter of intent to play for U of A in 1976 while playing high school football at Sunnyside High School in Tucson, Arizona. During his NFL career, Holt played in 55 games and started in 24 of those contests. In the CFL he recorded the following during his 5 year career. Harry Holt played in 54 games for the BC Lions with 137 receptions, totaling 2364 yards with 14 TD's.

A LITTLE LATE
Ernest McNeil Moore, a former NFL defensive back, passed away back on March 9th at the age of 89.
This was missed since his obituary was not published until November of 2023. He played for the Chicago Bears in the National Football League. He played college football at Sam Houston State University and Rice University. During his NFL career, he was with the Chicago Bears (1954–1957) and he played in 35 games while he recorded 8 interceptions.
