Sgt. Slaughter at Las Vegas Toy Show

At the Toy Show yesterday, Slaughter had some impressive merch such as his various GI JOE action figures (including his recently released GI JOE Classified action figure which I recently bought on EBay as part of my GI JOE Classified action figure collection) and he had a GI JOE Championship belt for photo ops. At Slaughter's table though, I just bought the autograph for my card as I am saving money for two trips this month (to New England this weekend during Spring Break and to Los Angeles at the end of the month for Mania Weekend) and I got free admission to the convention as a local teacher.

In general at the Toy Show yesterday, I did look at various wrestling action figures (especially the Hasbro figures as I have the first 2 of the 3 Retro sets from Mattel Creations and I have also preordered the NWO Retro set that is available exclusively from Ringside Collections but won't be released until early May,) some GI JOE Classified action figures that I do not have (Slaughter has been my only recent GI JOE Classified action figure purchase,) and Star Wars Lego sets, but held off on buying things for now other than that autograph from Slaughter for my LOW card.

GI Joe Championship belt sounds awesome! Had a ton getting Funkos, WWE and GI Joe figs signed, he really seems to be in demand right now!

Sarge seems like he's really in his element at those signings and personal appearances. He definitely goes the extra mile for his fans as far as interaction and the way he signs. I know he has said in the past that he regrets leaving WWF when he did and missing out on the big boom period. But I think it worked out for the best for him because anywhere he goes he gets the pro wrestling crowd and the GI Joe fans. You can count on one hand the number of living pro wrestlers with that kind of crossover appeal.
