Hello Promoters, with the Royal Rumble approaching, I was thinking about trying to roll one of my own. I have done a battle royal before, but never a Royal Rumble. Looking for some suggestions on how to conduct one. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks - Pete

There were rumble rules in the Championship Wrestling from Hollywood set (maybe the second one?), if you want the official Filsinger Games version. What I like to do is use a random number generator to assign my participants their entry number (dice, numbers from a hat, excel spreadsheet, your choice). I set an actual timer between entries, two minutes works well. I use the battle royal rules from the ringside companion. No managers or allies at ringside. And if it ever gets down to only one person in the ring but the match isn't over because there are still entries to come out, I take a fatigue off the guy in the ring. Oh, and if I ever roll a result that can't happen (say someone makes the save but there are only two guys left) I treat it as a failed elimination and the guy on offense rolls again on level 2.

This is great! I have the ringside companion, so I figured I would use that, but I like your ideas. I will use them as well and tell you how it goes this weekend. Thank you

The timer between entries is something I've been tinkering with lately. One idea I want to try is to have a set number of turns before the next person comes in. For example, after 20 rolls, the next competitor comes out. But I am not sure if that would cause more work with keeping track of things.

I found myself constantly forgetting to advance the move counter after using charts. That's why I personally personally prefer to use a timer.

I use the number of rolls as a timer. For my games, I say 1 die equals 6 seconds, so ten die rolls is 1 minute. I have tons of dice, so I keep 10 dice out, moving dice to a used pile as I roll them. If I want 2 minute intervals, I use 20 dice. It's a lot of dice on the table and your mileage may vary, but I tabletop wargames, so tons of dice is nothing new to me
