Into the Chikaraverse

I'll kick off by saying I am new to the game, but already absolutely love it! My Chikara Special package arrived today and I have already had so much fun! Chikara was my favourite promotion, and I spent so much money getting DVDs and stuff shipped to the UK over the years to enjoy it before streaming became a thing with them.

My Chikara will bring together those from various periods of the company's history, as well as adding in new faces that fit the ethos. A few rules, I am not starting out with a Grand Champion, but will crown one at some stage. I will have the KOT tournament, Cibernetico and Tag Grand Prix through the year. My Young Lions Cup rules are going to be a slight amalgamation of those used, meaning any wrestler with fewer than 20 matches in my Chikaraverse can compete for the YLC. I am starting with two shows a month generally, although may be more or less depending on numbers of nights etc, and I am shamelessly going to steal from Vegas's Chikara fed, which I have had great fun catching up on, and start in May so that this is when Anniversario will be (as was the case in real life).


Show 1 - Chikara: The Boy Who Lived
May - Show A - Year 1

F.I.S.T (Johnny Gargano, Chuck Taylor & Icarus) def. The Colony (Soldier Ant, Fire Ant & Green Ant) by pinfall
Two staples of Chikara kick off the relaunch. After Icarus and Soldier Ant fight to the outside, where the former hits the Blu-Ray into the Commentation Station, Gargano and Taylor double team Green Ant with the ankle trap/leg drop combo and Gargano gets the pin

Sara Del Rey (w/ Jakob Hammermeier) def. Lance Steel by pinfall

Del Rey made quick work of Steel to get The BDK's night off to a winning start, finishing things with the Royal Butterfly

Archibald Peck's Open Challenge
Marchie Archie and Veronica come to the ring, with Peck telling the crowd he can beat anyone on the Chikara roster, so it doesn't matter who comes out to face him. This brings Johnny Saint to the ring, much to the surprise of Peck.

Saint gets fully into the Chikara mood, immediately reversing a Peck headlock before sending him running back and forth between the ropes. This enrages Peck, who manages to reverse it, shoulder check Saint and hit the Unchained Melody to get the pin.

Los Ice Creams def. The Osirian Portal by pinfall
Another truly Chikara spectacle to kick off the second half of the show. Amasis started things off for the Portal, but after he was thrown from the ring, Ophidian came in for a dance contest with Ice Cream Jr.
Ice Cream Jr attacked Ophidian after showing off his moves, hitting two Jack and Jill Hammers back-to-back, before El Hijo del Ice Cream finished things with a Cold Stone Stunner

The Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield, 'Mr Touchdown' Mark Angelosetti, & Sugar Dunkerton) def. The Batiri (Obariyon, Kodama, & Kobald) by pinfall
Dunkerton picked up the win for The Throwbacks, landing Air Dunkerton on Obariyon.
Following the match, Kodama and Kobald jump The Throwbacks as they celebrate, eventually being joined by Obariyon to beat down their opponents before the lights go out and they disappear.

The BDK (Claudio Castagnoli & Ares) w/ Jakob Hammermeier & Tursas def. Mike Quackenbush and Jigsaw by pinfall
As Gavin Loudspeaker informs the crowd that it's time for the main event of the evening, Claudio grabs Loudspeaker's guitar and smashes Jigsaw over the head with it. Claudio quickly goes to the top rope and hits Jigsaw with a diving European uppercut, sending him out of the ring and bringing in Quackenbush.
When Jigsaw is tagged back in, Ares hits the blue thunder bomb on him, but Jigsaw kicks out of the pin. However, Claudio and Ares distract the ref, and Tursas comes in to hit his massive cross body on a battered Jig, allowing Ares to get the pin and send BDK home with a 100 per cent record for the night.

May - Show B - Year 1

Delirious (w/Jakob Hammermeier) def. Robbie Ellis by pinfall
Ellis had some early offence, but Delirious made short work of his older opponent to get his first win on the season, pinning his opponent after a Panic Attack.

3.0 (Shane Matthews and Scott Parker) def. F.I.S.T (Chuck Taylor and Johnny Gargano) by submission
A heavy beatdown from the off on Taylor by Parker almost saw him counted out, but it was Gargano who tapped out after two Boston Crabs by Matthews.

The Spectral Envoy (Ultramantis Black, Hallowicked, and Frightmare) def. The BDK (Tim Donst, Pinkie Sanchez, and Daizee Haze) by pinfall
With Ares and Castagnoli out of the country, the rest of the BDK were tasked with maintaining their 100 per cent record so far. What ensued was something of a classic, which came to a head when Ultramantis dived out on to Donst, bringing in Pinkie and Hallowicked. The latter hit the Go 2 Sleepy Hollow, with Frightmare pulling an interfering Jakob Hammermeier off the ring apron and allowing his team to get the pin.

Peck tells the crowd he has proven he is a serious wrestler with serious credentials after defeating Johnny Saint. He tells them that he only expects to see serious opponents come through the curtain from now on. So, who is his opponent for this evening? It's Dragon Dragon!

Perplexed by the dragon opposite him in the ring, Peck is hit early with a Dragon Suplex, but he rolls out the ring and composes himself with Veronica. As she draws the referee's attention, Peck strikes him with Veronica's baton and then hits the Cranial Crescendo to get the win.

Tursas def. Jigsaw by count out
Intent on getting a measure of revenge for his interfering in the main event of the last show, Jigsaw sought to powerslam the giant Tursas early. However, this was blocked, followed by a series of slams from Tursas. The 375-pound monster stunned the crowd when he sent Jigsaw to the outside before crushing him with a suicide dive. Jig was unable to recover and make it back to the ring in time.

Los Ice Creams def. Da Soul Touchaz (Acid Jaz and Marshe Rockett) by pinfall
Ice Cream Jr and El Hijo Del Ice Cream make regular tags, controlling their opponents throughout the contest. Jaz is able to kick out of the Cold Stone Stunner, but is immediately put away with the Two Scoop Slam by Hijo.

Eddie Kingston def. Larry Sweeney by pinfall
An error in judgement from Sweeney, slapping Kingston in the face and going to strut, was his ultimate downfall, as this rallied Eddie, who hit a Yakuza Kick and got the pin

The Throwbacks def. The Colony by pinfall
A main event with lots of tags and fast pace action from both sides, which was won by Sugar Dunkerton when he hit a knee lift uranage on Green Ant and got the pin.
After the match, The Batiri emerged from under the ring, attacking both teams and leaving them all laying lifeless. Again, the lights went out and when they turned back on, Kobald, Kodama and Obariyon had disappeared, leaving the Commentation Station with plenty of questions about whether they were the masterminds of these attacks or if someone was using The Batiri to do their bidding.

Archibald Peck will host another open challenge, Brodie Lee and Grizzly Redwood will be in town, and Bryan Danielson is set for action!

Of all the different brands, I'm probably the least familiar with Chikara... But, it's always looked very entertaining and I'm stoked to see what you have planned... Great kickoff!

3.0 def. The UnStable by submission
Scott Parker took something of a beating at the hands of Vin Gerard and Stigma, but when he finally managed to make the hot tag, 'Big Magic' Shane Matthews came in all guns blazing and picked up the win with a Boston Crab

Heidi Lovelace def. Gran Akuma by pinfall
A frustrated Akuma resorted to attempting to use a chair on Lovelace when he couldn't put her away after a 450 splash, but a Heidi-can-rana when the pair returned to the ring secures her the victory.

Tursas (with Jakob Hammermeier) def. Mike Quackenbush by pinfall
Having interfered in his tag match in the season opener and crushed his team mate at the last show, Quack was here to exact some revenge and almost managed it. Jakob Hammermeier distracted the referee after a Quackendriver IV, and Tursas was able to reverse a bulldog and hit the diving cross body to continue his massacre of Jigsaw and Quack.

The Spectral Envoy (Ultramantis Black, Hallowicked and Frightmare) def. FIST (Icarus, Johnny Gargano and Chuck Taylor) by pinfall
Unsurprisingly, both teams contributed to an exciting end to the first half of the show. Everyone kicked out of at least one finisher, before a Headless Horsemen from the Envoy put away Gargano.

Archibald Peck's Open Challenge
The leader of the band says he was furious when Dragon Dragon dared to answer his open challenge at The Letters From No One. He says wrestling is no place for jokes, it's a serious competition, for serious people. Out comes... Darkness Crabtree, who slowly wanders to the ring.

Crabtree managed three Stone Age Stunners, but he cannot pin Peck. Archie hits the drum roll and pins his opponent.

The Roughnecks (Brodie Lee and Grizzly Redwood) def. Osirian Portal (Ophidian and Amasis) by pinfall
The Portal never really manage to get into the fight, with Redwood taking down Amasis with three Wood Chippers.

The Colony (Fire Ant, Soldier Ant and Green Ant) def. The Batiri (Obariyon, Kodama and Kobald) by pinfall
Batiri control the match for long periods, but the Colony are fed up of being targeted by their opponents and Obariyon is hit with the Ants Go Marching, Ant Hill and finally a Beach Break by Fire Ant to get the win for the Colony.
After the match, The Batiri attack the ants, the lights go out and when they come back on they have disappeared... but so has Green Ant!

Bryan Danielson def. Eddie Kingston by submission
A real hard hitting main event with multiple near falls and submissions. Bryan finally forces Kingston to tap out to a triangle choke in the centre of the ring. Both men shake hands after the match.

The Colony seek answers on where Green Ant has gone, Archibald Peck will continue his search for serious competition and Claudio Castagnoli has some words of warning for his BDK stablemates

Fun opener, with Generico kicking out of three pins before finally tapping to the Rings of Saturyne

Ophidian and Ice Cream Jr took the majority of the beatdowns for their respective teams. Roughnecks' Brodie Lee hit Ophidian with a big boot to win the match

Vin Gerard def. Colt Cabana by submission
Colt ran through his greatest hits, but was stunned by a clothesline as he came off the ropes and a quick STF to make him tap

Archibald Peck's Open Challenge
The leader of the band is here once more and he demands to see a sensible professional wrestler come through the curtain, after all, he has a win against the great Johnny Saint and he won't be mocked. His opponent for the night? Swamp Monster
Swamp Monster def. Archibald Peck by pinfall
Furious about not being taken seriously, Peck chokes the Swamp Monster with his sash from the off. However, when Swamp Monster gets control, he hits two top rope double foot stomps on Peck and pins him.

Backstage Promo
Claudio Castagnoli has his BDK stablemates with him and is furious that last time Tim Donst, Pinkie Sanchez and Daizee Haze teamed up they were beaten. He warns them he expects them to maintain the highest standards even when he isn't in the country and if they lose their match tonight, he will have to deal with this indiscretion. 

Da Soul Touchaz def. The BDK (Donst, Sanchez, Haze) by pinfall
Marshe Rockett lands a Yakuza Kick on Sanchez and pins him.
Following the match, Tursas comes to the ring, as Haze and Donst retreat to separate corners, the monster of the BDK destroys Pinkie Sanchez before picking him up and leading the rest of the BDK away from the ring.

The Batiri (Obariyon and Kodama) (with Kobald) def. The Colony (Fire Ant and Soldier Ant) 
Intent on learning where Green Ant is and who is behind The Batiri's attacks, The Colony take it to their opponents from the off. A Kodama pin save and distraction by Kobald allows The Batiri to gain the upper hand once more, and Kodama gets the win with the Batiri Blitz Kicks.
After the match, The Batiri maintain their relentless beatdown of The Colony, however before the lights can go out and they disappear, Worker Ant makes his return to Chikara to save his friends!

Sara Del Rey (with Jakob Hammermeier) def. Gregory Iron by pinfall
Keen to get The BDK back to winning ways, Hammermeier distracts the referee, with Del Rey hitting back to back Royal Butterflies and pinning Iron.

The BDK (Claudio Castagnoli and Ares) def. The Spectral Envoy (Hallowicked and Frightmare) 
BDK try to get the jump on their opponents before the match starts, but Hallowicked and Frightmare manage to get the upper hand. A Frightensteiner almost earns Frightmare a pin, but once again Jakob Hammermeier is on hand to distract the referee. A Ricola Bomb from Claudio followed by the Doomsday Uppercut hands BDK the win to close out the show.

Looks like Claudio believes to Spare the Rod is to Spoil the Child... And in this case, Tursas happens to be the Rod. YIKES!

Also enjoying the rivalry between the Batiri and the Colony... I've always been a fan of Kodama & Obariyon... Might even use them in my Impact Pro fed at some point.
