Sheepherders vs Ray Stevens and Pat Patterson
Joey Marella draws the assignment. Patterson and Luke start, Patterson dominates the early offense, even hitting BOMBS AWAY within the first 10 moves, but Butch is able to break the pin fall up. Patterson hits Luke with what appears to be a FOREIGN OBJECT, Marella gets distracted and misses the pin cover! BOMBS AWAY again, and Patterson scores a decisive victory for his team in the opening round!
Winners: Pat Patterson and Ray Stevens
*Note* Neither Butch, nor Ray Stevens got involved at all. All offense by Patterson, and I have not used his card much, but it felt like a beast during this quick bout.

I'm very curious to see how this plays out. Mark Henry & D'Lo Brown have been incredibly good for me (they're actually my champs at the moment with several successful defenses) while the Bulldogs and The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff have been disappointments (The Sheik & Volkoff have been terrible for me).

Marcus Alexander Bagwell and 2 Cold Scorpio vs Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn
The fans are on their feet for both babyface tag team entrances. James Beard draws this assignment. Lynn and 2 Cold start. They trade high flying maneuvers, Lynn goes for a quick pin after a springboard dropkick, Scorpio kicks out, and tags Bagwell in.
Bagwell hits a big splash, quick pin by Bagwell, with a long 2 count! Double Dropkick onto Lynn, as 2 Cold is back in the ring. Lynn is in trouble!
Scorpio goes up top, he comes off the top rope, Lynn catches Scorpio, and hits a body slam! Lynn hits a Cobra Clutch Suplex, and tags in RVD!
Van Dam and Scorpio treat the fans, as they go back and forth with aerial maneuvers, Scorpio connects with DISS THAT DON'T MISS, Scorpio makes a cover, but Lynn in to break it up!
VAN DAMINATOR connects! RVD catches Scorpio in a body scissors and cradle for a pin, and Bagwell breaks that attempt up.
Superkick and another VAN DAMINATOR, Scorpio is able to crawl and make a tag to the fresher Bagwell. Bagwell catches RVD with a piledriver, Scorpio back in, and they connect with another Double Dropkick.
RVD turns the tide however, standing moonsault, followed by a split-legged moonsault, (p6r4) RVD gets the win!
Winners: Jerry Lynn and Rob Van Dam
The crowd cheers as both teams shake hands and hug it out. We see the graphics for the next match.
It will be the the Fabulous Kangaroos vs James Gang!

Go Kangaroos.
I like Henry too much as a single to hamper him with Brown but I'm curious to see how they do.

Fabulous Kangaroos vs The James Gang
Crowd firmly in support of The Kangaroos. Dick Woehrle draws this referee assignment. Heffernan and BG will start for their respective teams.
A flying mare and a kangaroo kick gets a quick pin attempt, as BG kicks out, but retreats to his corner for a breather. STEPOVER TOEHOLD connects, and The James Gang retreats to the floor, as Heffernan stands tall in the middle of the ring!
Double team Catapult Smash as now Costello is the legal man in. But BG connects on a Hot Shot, and a tag to Kip. Forearm jab, jackhammer, then STANDING LEG DROP on to Costello! Kip covers, but that brings Heffernan to break it up!
Fighting spills to the floor, where Kip maintains control. Kip connects with a Cobra Clutch slam on the floor! He throws Costello back in!
Spike Piledriver, and BG is now legal. Costello wrestles control, and hits a Kangaroo Leap, with Heffernan now tagged in. BG tags Kip in. Standing Dropkick by Kip, then JAMES GANG AMBUSH is deployed!
No DQ! Costello is cut off by BG, (p5r7) Spike Piledriver again on Heffernan as BG comes back in, but Roy tags Al in as well! Costello locks in a hammer lock, but BG reverses out of it to tag Kip back in. Kip reverses out of a surfboard, power slam, STANDING LEG DROP(p10r4) and The Kangaroos have been eliminated!!!
Winners and advancing: The James Gang
The crowd does not like this match result! Guess what, crotch chops for everyone!!!
*Notes* 15 total fatigue tokens, BG was able to tag out just in time, and Kip overwhelmed with his power.

The James Gang just knocked off the 'Roos - who had to be considered one of the favorites to win the tournament... WOW!
