I finished the Adrian Adonis book earlier and now I want to track down some matches from his biker period. There were a couple years in the 1980s where Meltzer says Adrian Adonis was the #2 wrestler in the United States behind Ric Flair.

Catch his Japan stuff if you can. There's a list of recommended matches in the back and a few of them are from Japan.

There were a couple years in the 1980s where Meltzer says Adrian Adonis was the #2 wrestler in the United States behind Ric Flair. At his peak, he was on the short list of best in ring workers in North America. That's one of the reasons so many detested the later Adorable gimmick. Track down Adonis versus Bob Orton, Jr. for the Lou Thesz world title belt.

Since Jesse Ventura is not in the game, I think I might team Adonis with Rick Rude as an alternate universe version of the East-West Connection.

I introduced biker Adrian with Manny Fernandez as Northeast-Southwest Connection managed by Jimmy Hart.
Now I have him teaming with Roddy Piper & the Dream Team--managed by Johnny Valiant--in one territory.
I also have him teaming with "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol as East-West Connection in another territory.
BTW, I use "Adorable" Adrian Adonis as a partner to "Pretty Boy" Larry Sharpe in another territory as Pretty Adorable.

Well, one wrestler you won't be teaming Adonis with is Dan Spivey. π±

I toyed with Rude and Idol as βreplacementsβ for Ventura. I went with a somewhat out of the box idea of using Chris Masters.

In New Japan Adonis had tag matches with Greg Valentine, The Grappler, Masked Superstar, Bob Orton Jr., King Kong Bundy, and Andre the Giant. Some were six-mans. If you got a Dick Murdoch bootleg they were a team for a long time.
