Well, though I'm not an MMA fan, these stats look really good.

Arguably the best Heavyweight of all-time was no easy task to create stats for. He just has way too many talents to apply them all to his card within the Shylock-60 Rating limit max. I waffled back and forth on placing an “Add 1” on L2 Offense because it took away 2 points from an OFF. POWER. He hits so hard that it was difficult not to give him a +3 OFF. POWER to Striking for 6 points, leaving only a +2 in OFF. POWER for Grappling that costs 4. There are a couple of reasons I settled on +3 Striking instead of Grappling. A big one is… of the list of fighters I’m wanting to card, not many are going to qualify for a +3 in Striking and I’d like at least a few to own that distinction. My second reason is that Fedor does have a better KO finish rate than SUB, albeit by one and a lot came on the ground after the knockdown. How many were just the icing, though? How many opponents were technically out before they hit the ground and received an extra hammer or two until the stoppage came? Watching 48 fights (some of which are not online anywhere) to make the “correct call” was not something within the scope of reason… so, I just went with my gut in this situation. Honestly, something is bound to be a bit lacking for a fighter of this caliber. It is inevitable. Maybe some feedback from the brain trust (that’s you wonderful peeps of course) could help me clear my conscience? Would you go +3 Striking and +2 Grappling, or +2 Striking and +3 Grappling? Now, I could remove the “Add 1” and make both Striking AND Grappling +3, but I really want at least 2 fighters per weight division to have the “Add 1”. Only 5 of 44 fighters in the fictional set have it so that’s why I set the cap so low. Fedor and Couture seem the most logical candidates to me, but I can decide on the second fighter later when I get around to rating the next wave of Heavies. Let me know your thoughts. Anyway, as far as the real fighter goes… there’s really no need for any blah, blah for this guy… it’s freaking FEDOR! I am probably not the BIGGEST expert on Fedor's prime career. I saw most of it after he had already started his long downslide. BUT I tend to think of Fedor as a better grappler than a striker. He had some definite power and striking ability but to me, his striking seemed to be where he was likely most vulnerable, though it didn't catch up to him until much later in his career. I am also not very familiar with this CPC/POW ruleset so some of my feedback may not make as much sense until after I am able to better familiarize myself with it. So far things are looking really good though. Ken Shamrock feels a little high maybe but he was definitely one of the early favorites. It wasn't until after his WWF run that it really felt like the sport had passed him by.

I'd definitely vote for either Mir or Barnett. Maybe leaning slightly more toward Barnett since the current list is a little UFC heavy.

Really great work on this stuff, 4everMMAfan. It’s been some years since I dusted off my CPC/POW game but this stuff makes me very nostalgic for it. Those UFC/Pride years are so in my wheelhouse.
I purposely used to stay off places like Sherdog until I could get my dvds in the mail or at the store. It was so easy because so few people were covering the sport. I still remember being at my now wife’s house and almost choking on my food when I saw Kevin Randleman KO Cro Cop.

I like the simple scoring method. Makes a lot of sense without causing the player to get too bogged down with keeping track of every little thing.

If POW had been more like this, I think I would have got more into the game.

If POW had been more like this, I think I would have got more into the game. Ouch. I thought Mark and Gregg did a fantastic job with POW, and the only thing I would have changed was the way trainers were implemented—and that only because I had already implemented my own system for them. POW was awesome and I wish it had received more love from the powers that be.
