Greetings, fellow promoters! My name is Jason Ward - a.k.a. J.K. Fabian in my Legends fed - and I have been playing a Legends fed called Big Time Wrestling for the past several months. Rather sporadically at times, but trying to follow a schedule of four "house shows" followed by a "Super Card". My cards take place at arenas throughout the state of California. My big event arenas are the Cow Palace in San Francisco and, of course, the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles. I don't delve too much into the history of which classic buildings old Lebell and Shires promotions held events in the old days - so if you see a House Show is in a "modern" arena, that's why.
A little bit about the goings on in my promotion, then the results of my latest card, named Final Battle from the Olympic Auditorium in LA. 1) The main faction in Big Time Wrestling is the Bobby Heenan Family - Consisting of Harley Race, Buddy Rogers, Curt Hennig, and hired gun Blackjack Mulligan. Harley Race has been defending the Beat The Champ TV Title successfully for the last few weeks. However, wanting to go in a different direction, the BTW Board Of Directors recently announced that, at Final Battle, Harley Race would take on Ray Stevens to crown the first ever BTW United States Heavyweight Champion. Stevens has not been a regular competitor in Big Time Wrestling. However, he was brought in for the December show at the Cow Palace to wrestle Pat Patterson for the Roy Shires Memorial United States Championship - as a way to pay tribute to the legendary real-life San Francisco wrestling promoter. (Kind of my way of slightly breaking the Filsinger Games Fourth Wall, if you will). Stevens came out on the winning end of that classic, five star match. Since Race had defended the BTC TV Title successfully five times, it was decided that he and Stevens would be chosen to compete for the BTW US Title. Regardless of who won the match, the Beat The Champ title would be retired. Blackjack Mulligan was brought in by Heenan as a hired gun to take out Bruiser Brody, which Mulligan accomplished in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match at the Cow Palace event. After losing a number one contenders match to Randy Savage, Mulligan hasn't been seen since. Buddy Rogers and Curt Hennig have formed a team called Naturally Perfect and are the BTW World Tag Team Champions. They recently lost a title match to the Road Warriors by disqualification. The Warriors received a rematch at Final Battle.
2) Ted Dibiase (Black Glove version) is the BTW World Heavyweight Champion. He has successfully defended the title against Randy Savage in two consecutive matches. The Board Of Directors gave Savage one final shot at the title in a steel cage at Final Battle (hence the name of the event). The winner of the match becoming champion and the loser of the match not getting another shot at the title so long as the other had it.
3) Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express were exiled from the BTW roster by the Heavenly Bodies in a loser leaves BTW match at Malice At The Cow Palace in December. However, a mysterious masked man has been interfering on behalf of both teams in a series of matches that have taken place between the Bodies and the Miracle Violence Connection. At Final Battle, the identity of the masked man was revealed - and exactly which side he was on became very apparent.
4) Sgt Slaughter & Ivan Koloff are engaged in a blood feud that continued at Final Battle with a six man tag team match between Slaughter and the US Express and Russians Ivan Koloff & Alexis Smirnoff and their new partner, Baron Von Raschke. The match did nothing to resolve their issues - if anything, the match exacerbated them!
5) Following Final Battle, some notable talent was released from the BTW roster to make room for some new talent to come in. I'll also detail that as well.
Thanks for making it through to this far, folks. I will be posting the results from Final Battle and the names of the talent that has been future endeavored as well, shortly.

BIG TIME WRESTLING ARENA REPORT: Final Battle Results
FINAL BATTLE 2/21/80 Olympic Auditorium, Los Angeles
Lei Lani Kai defeated Princess Victoria with a RUNNING SPLASH **
The show kicks off with a great opener, featuring female competitors for the first time in BTW history. Kai wins with a running splash for the three.
Golden Boy Adrian Adonis defeated Bobo Brazil with GOODNIGHT IRENE *****
An INSTANT classic. Bobo successfully connected on the Coco Butt four times while Adonis applied Goonight Irene on six occasions. It was the sleeper hold that won the day as Bobo succumbed to Adonis in a five star classic.
U.S. Express & Sgt Slaughter defeated Ivan Koloff, Alexis Smirnoff, & Baron Von Raschke - Barry Windham defeated Ivan Koloff with a BULLDOG ***
Before the match begins, we throw it to Trisha Timmons (aka Trisis Time) with breaking news: Sgt Slaughter has been attacked in the dressing room by the Russians! He is hurt! Slaughter is busted open and medical personell are attending to him.
The Russians and Baron were in the ring waiting for the US Express. An official came to ringside and said something to the ring announcer. The referee was also with them. After the conference, the official left and the announcer made his announcement: Windham and Rotundo have agreed to wrestle the Russians and Von Raschke in a handicap match!
And what a wild match it was! Lots of action packed action, with the proud Americans coming up victorious after Windham hit Ivan with a Bulldog.
The bell rang, but the chaos didn't end there! All three of the villains ganged up on and overcame Windham and Rotundo. Suddenly a cheer erupted from the crowd as Slaughter, head wrapped in a huge bloody bandage and wielding a chair, hit the ring and nailed each member of the opposition with a chair shot to send them running! Sarge got on the mic and led the crowd and his teammates in the Pledge Of Allegiance as the National Anthem played to a roaring crowd.
The Miracle Violence Connection defeated The Heavenly Bodies by DQ for Manager Interference **
Last week, the mysterious masked man that had been interfering on both teams behalf over the last couple of weeks promised to reveal his identity tonight. He was nowhere to be found when the match started, but made his way down to the ring eventually and interfered on behalf of the Bodies, not once but twice! The second time, he got caught breaking up a pin attempt by Terry Gordy and the referee disqualified the Bodies. Gordy had enough of this masked man's shenanigans, and grabbed him by the neck. Gordy proceeded to unmask the man, who turned out to be the previously exiled Jim Cornette! Cornette was thought to have been banished from Big Time Wrestling after the Bodies defeated the Midnight Express in a loser leaves town match! What was he doing helping the Bodies? Before Gordy could do any damage to Corny, Stan Lane hit Gordy from behind with a super kick to the back of the head! When Dr Death entered the ring to help, he was met with a vicious shot from Tom Prichard with a loaded tennis racket! What a shocking turn of events! The Bodies and Cornette embraced in the middle of the ring to a raucous chorus of boos and left together!
Harley Race defeated Ray Stevens with a vertical suplex to become the first BTW United States Heavyweight Champion *
The first ever BTW United States Heavyweight Champion is crowned as Harley Race upends Ray Stevens, but not without controversy. Race had Stevens pinned near the ropes after a vertical suplex. As the referee counted, Stevens put his foot on the bottom rope - but Race's manager Bobby The Brain Heenan knocked it off before the referee could see it and counted three! Race grabbed the belt from the referee and high tailed it to the dressing room with Heenan while an incensed Stevens stood in the ring and argued with the referee. Stevens got on the mic and challenged Race to a rematch!
The Road Warriors defeated Naturally Perfect (Buddy Rogers & Curt Hennig) to become BTW World Tag Team Champions/Animal pinned Rogers after a Doomsday Device ***
We have NEW World Tag Team Champions! A fantastic match by both teams that wasn't without controversy. After a brawl between all four men on the outside of the ring, Animal and Buddy Rogers got back into the ring, where Animal was able to set Rogers up for the Doomsday Device. Curt Hennig tried to break it up but was met by Hawk. Bobby Heenan tried to interfere and was thwarted as well. Animal got the pin on Rogers, and the Warriors were awarded the titles!
Except that Rogers was not actually the legal man in the match! Heenan vowed to file a protest with the championship committee over this fact, but in the meantime, the Legion Of Doom have ascended to the top of the BTW Tag Team mountain and are the champions.
Randy "Macho Man" Savage defeated Ted Dibiase in the Final Battle Cage Match to become the **NEW** World Heavyweight Champion with a FLYING ELBOW DROP *
The third time is the charm, as Macho Man Randy Savage finally defeated Ted Dibiase for the World Title in his third and final attempt with his patented flying elbow drop! The cage didn't even come into play, as Savage took advantage of an early opportunity to execute his patented finishing maneuver. Savage celebrated his win in the ring while Dibiase limped to the dressing room, left to contemplate his defeat.
What an amazing night of wrestling action! Three titles on the line, three new champions. The shocking return of Jim Cornette to the side of the team that drove him out of the promotion! The battle between good (Sgt Slaughter) and evil (Ivan Koloff) rages on! Stay tuned for the fallout from this memorable event and news on future events.
