Great discussion re. this year's WrestleMania... Honestly, I thought the weekend was fairly decent overall... The Triple Threat for the IC title was probably my favorite match, but there's no denying that Steen & Zayn winning those tag belts was a moment that will never be forgotten.
Gonna keep it simple with my Top 5 WM matches of all-time:
HM: Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels, Ladder match (10)
5. CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho (28)
4. Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan (6)

I don't have a top 5 because I've probably missed most of the great matches but Randy Savage vs Ric Flair for the World Title will always be #1 in my heart.

My three youngest kids wanted to watch WrestleMania matches tonight with their Friday night pizza, as they were only able to stay up to watch the openers both nights. We watched things out of order based on what they remembered being previewed in the preshows. One of them was Edge-Demon. After seeing the Logan's Run clip, I could definitely see Tim's comparison between Box and Edge's ring entrance gear! |

Great review. Top five favorite WrestleMania matches? Hard to narrow down. I hate to be one of those guys, but I had a real hard time finding matches I like from the last 15 years. There have been some real good ones, but when you see main event matches three times a week and everything gets a rematch they don't have that special "big match" feel anymore.
At any rate, top 5...10...12...in no order:
Hogan /Warrior from VI
Rude / Warrior WM V
Savage / Steamboat at 3 had to be on every list
Bret / Austin WM 13
Hogan / Rock at 18
.....
Bulldogs / Dream Team WM 2
Savage / Warrior
Austin/ Shawn 14
Kurt / Eddie
Blue Blazer / Mr Perfect at 4. Excellent, tight 5 minute match
....
Charlotte / Becky / Ronda at 35 is really the only one that rated on my list from the past decade or so. It's the only time lately they made something special and gave it the big match feel. And the wrestlers delivered as well.
Also, for being a guy who "couldn't wrestle" Warrior sure was in some classic matches at Mania. He couldn't lead a match, but man he could hold his end of the deal with a ring general. Guess he was more than a "body guy who got lucky" ol JR, bah gawd.
