Hometown-rules match
This match represents a situation in which one wrestler or team agrees to a match against another with a rule set that one of the wrestlers is unaware of. There have been many examples of this style of match, including Lance Storm's Canadian rules match, William Regal's Duchess of Queensbury match, and Vince Russo's New York rules match. I personally am using it as the Valiant Brothers' "Coney Island Rules" match (because like the games on Coney Island, you can't win). In these matches there is an arbiter of the mysterious rules outside the ring, who interjects when the wrestler or team with the “hometown advantage” seemingly loses the match. Use the chart below to determine what new rule the arbiter injects into the match.

Roll | Result |
2-4 | The arbiter declares the method by which the hometown wrestler lost (be pinfall, submission, DQ, or Count-out) to be invalid. This match can only end by knock-out! The first wrestler to a total PIN rating of 10 loses. The hometown wrestler takes advantage of the distraction caused by this announcement and takes over on level 2 offense. |
5-7 | If the hometown wrestler lost by DQ or Count-out, the arbiter declares that the match is no DQ and falls count anywhere. If the hometown wrestler lost by submission, the arbiter declares the match can only be won via pinfall. If the hometown wrestler lost by pinfall, the arbiter declares that the match must be won with a five count (roll pin twice). The hometown wrestler takes advantage of the distraction caused by this announcement and takes over on level 2 offense. |
8-9 | The arbiter declares the non-hometown wrestler as the winner… of the first fall! This match is now best two out of three falls. The hometown wrestler takes advantage of the distraction caused by this announcement and takes over on level 1 offense. |
10-11 | The arbiter clarifies that the match can only be won under the conditions of another type of match. Roll one die.
Restart the match under the new rules, do not roll on this table agin. |
12 | Roll 1 die Even – The arbiter declares the non-hometown wrestler the winner. After the match, the hometown wrestler confronts the arbiter and the two begin brawling. Odd- tired of the arbiter’s interference, the non-hometown wrestler shoves the arbiter. The arbiter responds by laying out the non-hometown wrestler with a foreign object or devastating maneuver (your choice). The arbiter then declares the hometown wrestler the winner by forfeit. |
