Great episode! Love the 2091 set. Matador is one of my favorite characters ever, same with Mayhem.

It speaks to the power of the 2091 set just how long-lasting most of these guys were. Matador never got another card. At-Las never got any kind of significant stats change in this run. Spike remained unchanged for the rest of the decade and didn't really change significantly when he came back. Mayhem went through a bunch of Special Edition cards but no one ever felt the need to update his stats. Justice got updated eventually but the first card lasted him a good while. Even Tendron had a decent career without ever needing an update. Whiplash lasted until near the end of the decade before aging out. The only guys who were quickly changed were the UnMan and (not even that quickly) the Guardsman.
I don't know if Tom had that endgame in mind for the UnMan at this point, considering the Transevolver hadn't been introduced yet, or if he knew that was coming with Dreadnaught, or what. But the UnMan doesn't strike me as someone who was really intended to stick around in that form for long. He was nobody's favorite but he wasn't really meant to be--it seems to me he was designed to be rather pathetic and pitiable.

War Games 2091 was released during a period of transition for me... Even though I was no longer playing religiously, I was still following the COTG saga... And imo, it was during the War Games era that COTG truly reached the opening stages of becoming just that... A saga.
Just like past discussions, this installment has got me thinking about a COTG reboot - A way to establish a definitive GWF history of my own... Inspiration is everywhere, gentlemen... Thank you for sharing. As always!

I started listening to this podcast this weekend. Iβm impressed with how well you guys remember your results from 2091. I have my color card 2091 fed results here on this board but I lost my original 2091 results in a move and I donβt remember them too well. I should have taken a photo of them and sent it to some other promoters.

I just finished listening to this episode on my way home from work today.
While they build the new ballpark for the As on The Strip where the Tropicana is currently located, the As plan to share the AAA ballpark with the AAA Las Vegas Aviators for a couple of years. But my guess is that the AAA team won't be in Las Vegas much longer once the As arrive.

But my guess is that the AAA team won't be in Las Vegas much longer once the As arrive. While I certainly don't know how these sorts of things work in the United States up here in Canada I've found that both pro and minor league teams can co-exist in the same market with both thriving. Calgary and Edmonton both have major junior hockey teams that pull in great attendance numbers despite playing in NHL markets. This could largely be due to the fact that you almost need to sell a kidney to afford a ticket to an NHL game in this country so attending a junior game is much more affordable. Every market is different though so I guess you'll have to wait and see what happens in Vegas.
