*Note* I decided with the WCW Television championship for this project because it changed hands a zillion times! Had a blast playing out matches and will probably do more!
WCW Television Championship Title History Play
1. WCW Nitro Episode # 01 (Jan, Week 1, Year 1)
For the vacant WCW Television Championship
Konnan -versus- Shane Douglas
Match Notes - Konnan beat Shane Douglas at 6:59 with a Niagara Driver to become WCW Television champion. This was an excellent match that had the fans on their feet for the entire bout. Konnan grabbed the microphone after the match and said that as long as he is champion he is going to defends the strap against everyone and anyone. He then left the ringside area as the show went to a commercial break.
2. WCW Thunder Episode # 01 (Jan, Week 1, Year 1)
For the WCW Television Championship
Konnan -versus- Marcus Alexander Bagwell
Match Notes - Konnan beat Marcus Alexander Bagwell at 3:52 with a Niagara Driver to retain the WCW Television championship. Bagwell was a good sport about losing to Konnan because after the match he handed the championship belt to Konnan and shook his hand before giving him the ring to celebrate his victory. Konnan has made his first championship defense!
3. WCW Nitro Episode # 02 (Jan, Week 2, Year 1)
For the WCW Television Championship
Konnan -versus- Brad Armstrong
Match Notes - Konnan defeated Brad Armstrong at 6:50 with a Niagara Driver. This marks Konnan’s second defense of the WCW Television championship. This match was great and the fans really seemed to enjoy it. After the bout Konnan raised his arms in victory as pyro shot out the corner posts. He then walked to the backstage area as the show went to the next segment.
4. WCW Thunder Episode # 02 (Jan, Week 2, Year 1)
For the WCW Television Championship
Konnan -versus- Super Crazy
Match Notes - Super Crazy stopped Konnan’s championship reign right in its tracks. Super Crazy nearly put him away early with a Triple Moonsault but Konnan was able to kick out. Super Crazy and Konnan fought some more before Super Crazy hit another moonsault for the pin and the win. Konnan was upset at first about the loss but then shook Super Crazy’s hand and handed him the championship belt!
5. WCW Monday Nitro Episode # 03 (Jan, Week 3, Year 1)
For the WCW Television Championship
Super Crazy -versus- “The King of Old School” Steve Corino
Match Notes - Before the match Steve Corino came out and said that he is bringing old school to World Championship Wrestling. He says he’s going to defeat Super Crazy for the belt. Steve Corino hit him with a chair several times with a chair despite the referee’s warnings and then hit an Old School Expulsion to become WCW Television champion!
