I am likely off a week from tomorrow, I do not know as the next schedule was not posted, the one that starts today for the next two weeks but even if I am that will be my one day off next week. If I can get my hand on a Federation transporter before than I would be able to make it on Monday for a few hours but seeing as that is pretty unlikely, I will not be able to make it. The story of my life. When I was young I had time to do things but not the money. Now I have the money but not the time.

It's never fun when you don't have time to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Going back and forth as to whether or not I want to attend this year. I was originally scheduled to work on August 28th but now my co-worker asked me to work his shift next Saturday in exchange for my August 28th shift. I now have the 28th-30th off from work so I could attend all 3 days, fly back early on the 31st and be back in Vancouver in enough time to work my Thursday afternoon shift. (As long as there's no flight delays of course) I ran the numbers this morning and I figure between flight, hotel and convention ticket making the trip would cost me about $1200-1300 in Canadian Dollars plus meals. While I have some money saved up I'm already going to Rome in October for a week which is going to be an expensive trip. I'm not sure if I can financially justify a second vacation. But I would really love to go. If I do I would be more than happy to help out with some game demos. I have to think this one over some more. Paul, if you are able to make it here to Las Vegas for the CAC, I will buy you a beer my friend. I am actually going to Rome too this year but not until December. However, for me it won't be that expensive because I have family based in Europe (my sister lives and teaches in Germany, my parents have a home in Portugal, etc.) I look forward to seeing Tom (and anyone else here who can make the trip) a week from tomorrow! After mulling it over for a few days I've decided to pass on attending the reunion this year. As much as I would like to go the problem is my flight back on the Thursday morning as I have to work starting at 3:00. I found a return flight that would land in Vancouver at 10:30 and 4.5 hours should be more than enough time for me to go home, have some lunch and head to work. However, considering the large amount of flight delays/cancelations happening with the airlines these days if my flight gets affected by that I run the risk of not making it back in time. Considering I'm in a management position at my current job that definitely would NOT look good. Zeke, thank you for the offer of buying me a beer but I'll have to take a raincheck. Too bad because I just saw on the CAC website that they'll be doing karaoke on the Monday night after the Meet And Greet. Get a few drinks in me beforehand and I could probably sing all night!

That's OK Paul, I am going to the CAC to help Tom but that is about it as I did not buy a ticket this year for the CAC activities due to issues at work (we are taking a strike vote on Saturday at 9 AM.) I plan to be downtown on Sunday to watch All In for free at the Nerd Bar in the morning and then help Tom set up the Filsinger Games table at the Plaza. I am also hoping to take either Monday or Tuesday off from work to help Tom, but I don't plan to do the CAC's Tuesday night dinner or Wednesday night banquet this year.
