Yep....was occupied with some other stuff today.
Sheik...quite the character and perhaps one of the biggest changes in personality if not style in wrestling.

Great episode!
One of my fondest Sheik memories was that the head of his LJN figure put a hole in one of my closet doors when he was thrown across the room.

Another good listen. I had all of the LJN figures and using the Sheik's was one of my favorites. I'd load his boot up just like he did before hitting whoever I had as his opponent.

I think my question got a little lost in translation.
I love the theme sets and totally get when a big name gets signed, you find a way to get them in a set. I also know some Prime sets tie into a particular set
I was referring to the miscellaneous Prime sets with just random guys in it, like Ranger Ross or Big Bully Busick, that dont fit into a particular set/theme/etc. Or a set like the Pitbulls or Irwins. Thats what my question actually was.

Another Fantastic Episode from the UT Team!
I really am trying hard to remember if I ever saw the Iron Sheik in person...but I cannot remember. I think by the time I started attending live shows he had "retired". Definitely missed out.
-----
Attending CWS is on my list of sporting events to attend...maybe when I am "retired - retired".
-----
Keep the good stiff coming UT Team!

I cant remember if I ever saw Iron Sheik wrestle as the Iron Sheik. But I know for sure I saw Colonel Mustafa wrestle at Summerslam 1991!

I'm pretty sure my first memory of the Sheik was from the Rock n Wrestling cartoon. In fact, a lot of those wrestlers were introduced to me there and then I saw them on Superstars most likely.

I listened to this episode about the Iron Sheik today.
I first knew about the Iron Sheik from the Saturday morning cartoon which got me into wrestling. Iron Sheik was among the LJN action figures I owned in the 1980s.
I know I saw the Iron Sheik wrestle live at least 4 times (all in 1986:)
Iron Sheik was on the first wrestling show I attended back in February 1986 (he teamed with Nikolai Volkoff against Corporal Kirchner and Danny Spivey.)
Iron Sheik was also on the second wrestling show I attended live back in I think May 1986 (it was shortly after Wrestlemania 2) where he defeated George Wells. Even as a 6th grader, I knew George Wells had no chance in that match. Iron Sheik however was not on the 3rd show I attended the following month which had a main event of Hulk Hogan vs Big John Studd (but that was the first time I saw Hogan wrestle live.) The 3rd and 4th time I remember seeing the Iron Sheik were connected as he and Nikolai Volkoff won a tag team battle royal which earned them a title shot the following month against the British Bulldogs.
I may have seen the Iron Sheik wrestle more than just those 4 shows, but I definitely remember those 4 occasions at the Tacoma Dome. As I mentioned on Facebook and on another thread on this board, years later I met the Iron Sheik at a Wrestle Reunion convention where I got my black and white LOW card autographed by him and then I unknowingly appeared in the background of a documentary they filmed about the Iron Sheik which included footage from that Wrestle Reunion.
I was really surprised to hear that Stu has not watched Wrestlemania.
Thank you to Chad for wishing me a Happy Birthday on this episode! I hope Chad had fun at the College World Series. Ironically, I was actually at Wake Forrest earlier this month as the campus was located right next to my hotel in Winston-Salem when I attended the Crockett Cup (I think the venue the NWA used at the fairgrounds was located right across the street from the university's football stadium.) Although I have not been to the College World Series which takes place in Omaha, on my way to Waterloo I will be in Omaha next month for a AAA baseball game.
Looking forward to this week's episode!
