I might be biased because we turned Forbidden Door 2 into a Super Bowl watch party, but the show was a ton of fun despite some bloat. It left me excited to watch more wrestling and (of course most importantly) re-roll the card in-game.
It's interesting to see the wrestling intelligencia's reaction to Kojima/Punk vs Ospreay/Omega. Hopefully the powers that be can capitalize and turn the last years worth of dirt sheet speculation into some good business.

An awesome conversation covering a wide array of topics... Thoroughly enjoyed hearing a few thoughts on Forbidden Door which I personally enjoyed from start to finish even though Bullet Club Gold didn't appear -- Can't get enough of King Switch & Rock Hard Robinson... Two guys that I view as major players in the future of AEW.
Totally stoked for the IPW roster reveal on the next episode, gentlemen... Predicting this will be my favorite set of the year and can't wait to inject this new talent into my fed... Really hoping that Briar & Sage Hale will soon be contending for my IPW Ladies Tag Team Championship. 🤩

Oof...I'm watching a different Jungle Boy from the rest of you. Not everyone needs to be a main eventer--Jungle Boy had a good niche as a plucky babyface and tag team guy for the kids, and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't buy into him as a "pillar" (though I guess I buy into him more than I do Sammy Guevara in that role) and maybe I'm pessimistic but I don't see this heel turn getting him to "the next level," nor do I think he should be aiming for the next level except that Tony obviously really likes him.
Of course this was recorded before Dynamite, but that debut heel promo didn't fill me with promise either. At this point I think if you have to commit to a heel turn that you should put him back with Christian and Luchasaurus.
The work in Omega-Ospreay was fantastic but I cannot even begin to describe how much I hated Don Callis being ejected and then coming back and interfering all over the place like nothing happened while the referee does nothing about it. And not in a "heel heat" way--in a, "AEW officials and babyfaces are constantly portrayed as incompetent boobs and heels never face any consequences for cheating" way. If I was giving out star ratings I'd knock an entire star off for that. Either figure out a more creative way for Ospreay to get the screwdriver or don't bother doing an ejection to begin with. A big source of frustration I have with AEW is that they come up with these set pieces but don't have the inclination or attention span to enact a little quality control to make them logical. I thought this was supposed to be Will Washington's job but if so it hasn't manifested itself yet.

In my mind its 1. MJF then a big gap then 2. Darby 3. Sammy and Jungle Boy is easily last place. I think he has been a great white meat babyface, but he needs something to get to that next level. I was hoping this could be good, but the first week out was really rough.

The whole "pillar" thing is kind of ridiculous and flimsy and never made a great deal of sense to me to begin with. Like, how is Orange Cassidy not a pillar? Anyway, I just disagree that Jungle Boy "needs" to get to any "next level."
