So…any CotG’ers going to SummerSlam? I think we might be going. My son is wanting to buy tickets for the two of us.
Maybe we can meet up for a bit if anyone is going. Swarm? Do you still live over by Detroit? (If I am correct in thinking you lived there)

I want to go as Michigan is one of the 15 states I have not been to yet, but it is the weekend before we start school.
Now it turns out we are likely going to be on strike as our governor signed a bill to give specifically teachers an 18% raise but the superintendent is refusing to give us the money and says we are overpaid (yet he gave his admin staff a huge raise.) So if the school year does not start on time, that could allow me to go (but it is probably not happening as I should be home in case there is a last minute settlement.)

If you do go I would suggest trying to make it to Frankemuth (Bavarian touristy town) and Bronner's Christmas Wonderland (world's largest Christmas store). Also you have to try a Coney Dog and a Boston Cooler, both of which have no connection to the areas they are named after lol

Is it even possible for teachers to be overpaid? They play such an important role in our society with the ability to inspire and motivate children yet they continue to be undervalued in my opinion. Hopefully everything works out OK and a strike isn't necessary.

It is absolutely wrong for the superintendent to pocket the money the governor is specifically trying to give to teachers while that same superintendent just announced huge raises for his inner staff. Is he paying them with the money that is supposed to go to us? It is also just simply demoralizing to be told I am overpaid when I basically live paycheck to paycheck (if it was not for Summer School money where I did extra work then this Midwest trip I am currently on would not even be possible. I simply could not do it.) The school year is scheduled to start on August 6th. But trust me when I say I will be goddamned before I cross a picket line, especially for a cause I believe in.

When I used to stay there, I liked Bavarian Inn in a room with a balcony overlooking the river. Zehnder's had the advantage of walking to Bronner's. Going to Frankenmuth is one thing I miss about living in Michigan or even the Midwest. When I lived in IL it was only about a 6-hour drive. I do miss some of the stores in the downtown area that closed or changed.

What is the over/under that they would actually let Jey Uso win the title from Roman even for just a month?
