LAW Saturday Night Showdown

Hey all long time no see!  A lot of stuff going on in my life but find escaping into games has always been a ... Godsend.  The plan here is to play my LAW fed in real time as I am finally caught up once more with the game!  I will be playing every Saturday night usually in step with another Saturday Night Program. 

The Legends of Avalon Wrestling Federation or LAW is my flagship wrestling federation and takes place in an alternate timeline (my legends fed is the past history of this fed and how I am up to card #9601 lol).  I think I tried to play by official storylines for about a month before the dice decided to tell me a different story so obviously there will be some differences in groups, rivals, etc.  How I play my fed is that I play 50 cards a game year and split the year into ten segments of five.  Each segment of five features three matches and a championship main event.  In the LAW you have to beat the man to be the man, this rule means that champions must fight every chapter/segment and fight in at least a non title match.  If the challenger beats the champion by pinfall, submission, count out or DQ they earn a championship match in the next chapter.

LAW SATURDAY NIGHT SHOWDOWN #9601 show card
- LAW Avalon Heavyweight Champion Shayne makes a historic announcement!
- Splash & Titan Power ended the year thinking they got the upper hand on Saber but out of nowhere the greatest Ladies champion of all time Sniper made her return and told Saber come 2139 he's got an indomitable partner to watch his back.
- two debuts as Purge takes on Nakano Tekeko.
- the end of last year we saw friction between Climber & Tank developing and word is Climber has had enough.  What has Diva said to Climber?  What does Diva have planned to kick off the year for these two?
- AND IN THE MAIN EVENT, the Basilisk's handler Bex has thrown out an open challenge to any beast or creature in the galaxy to take on the Heavy Metal Champion?  Fans at ringside better be ready for whatever carnage happens here!

LAW SATURDAY NIGHT SHOWDOWN #9601

- The show begins with Shayne riding out to the ring on a horse wearing the LAW Avalon Heavyweight championship title belt. Shayne eventually dismounts and enters the ring. He seems a lit sad but eventually speaks. "LAW fans, I stand here 56 cards from being the all time longest combined reigning champion in history. It has been a journey that few have every taken. A journey that eventually though, must end. Today, I signed my final contract with the LAW. If this year ends and I am still your LAW Avalon Heavyweight champion, I will remain on for an additional 10 more cards. So this cowboy will either have his ride end at high noon or he'll ride off into the sunset the greatest one to ever lace up his boots." It's at this point Tempest makes his way out. Shayne sets down the mic and is about to leave the ring. The two share a conversation. Tempest looks a little anxious now about their match at card #9605 but Shayne looks to reassure him. "If you're the man Tempest, I'd rather go down guns blazing to someone I respect than not" Shayne says and the two shake hands before we cut to commercial.

- We come back from commercial and the Titans make their way to the ring. Saber then makes his way to the ring. The Titans taught Saber and tell him he has no friends. Sniper's music hits and the crowd goes nuts. Sniper throws up a signal indicating her 8 title reigns as Ladies champion. "This feels a little off. Titans in one corner. It only feels right to have ... the Society of Death ... in the other" the crowd gasps as gunfire sounds ring out. "Titan Power my friend you are not Invincible. You need to be taught a lesson by someone INDOMITABLE!!!"

MATCH #1: Splash & Titan Power vs Indomitable Krakan & Saber
The Society of Death seemingly easily handled the Titans, Krakan put up +4 pin tokens on both members before pinning Splash for the win

- Before the next match, Kenji and Azuma were doing an interview in the back when the debuting Tekeko walks by. She bows to both of them and they both wish her luck on the next match. After she leaves the interviewer comments that she thinks Nakano was looking at them. Kenji and Azuma both point to each other and we cut to ringside.

MATCH #2: Nakano Tekeko vs Purge
Actually a pretty fun back and forth match. In the end Purge gained momentum and the double finishers found her a win.

- We cut back from commercial and we see Diva doing an interview. "Tank, I hope you had a great holiday, because fun time is over for you. For years you have emotionally abused your "best" friend. You made him something he hated, for you. He's been a pretender, a loser, for you. Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you ... the SHOW STOPPER." We cut to ringside where Tank is already in the ring. The lights go out and their is a huge and elaborate (one could say show stopping number) entrance for the new SHOW STOPPER

MATCH #3: The Show Stopper (Climber) vs Tank
Back and forth match and then Mr. Everything showed up. To even things up Tank grabbed a chair and nearly took off Stopper's head and the referee disqualified him. Mr. Everything pulled the Show Stopper out of the ring and the two escaped up the ramp. Tank grabbed a mic and said "this is not over. I tried to help you, I did what I could to carry our team and make you something more. But you've given up the fight. I haven't. I will continue the fight for Freedom on my own."

- Back from commercial and we see Diva talking to Mr. Everything & the Show Stopper in the back. She tells Mr. Everything not to worry, that this Freedom Fighter is banned from ringside when he fights on card #9604. She is about to say against who when the person walks into the camera view. Pardon. "Ya know, I kind of like this new look for Tank" Pardon says looking at the two in front of him. The theme from the Basilisk can be heard inside the arena. Diva steps in between Everything and Pardon as the camera cuts back to the ring.

- Bex leads the Basilisk to the ring while holding the LAW Heavy Metal title high. Bex gets on the mic and asks for whatever opponent or creature they could find. "Come on down and FEED THE BEAST" Bex announces and the crowd pops.

MAIN EVENT: The Basilisk (c) vs Nosfera
Basilisk started off strong but then Nosfera was too quick. He fought off Bex who stuck his nose in the match and then surprised the Basilisk getting the 1-2-3 and earning a LAW Heavy Metal title match next chapter!

The last commercial plays and then a series of promos play. The most prominent is the last one as we see Death Queen being the one to finally dethrone the Cosmic Woman. "I always wanted to be a super hero growing up. But I grew up to be something more. I don't wear a cape, I wear a crown. And this gold belt belongs around a queens waist not someone from under the sea. Hyla you're going to be the first but in a long line of this reign. Long live the queen!"

SATURDAY NIGHT SHOWDOWN INTRO PLAYS - CARD #9602!!!

MATCH #1: Orrus & Tarval vs Armour & Istar
In a short match, Orrus & Tarval tried to capture Armour via net but then Orrus tried to choke out Armour and got disqualified. After the match Orrus & Tarval laugh but Istar gets on the mic and tells them this is no laughing matter. They are no joke and it they want some, they want a rematch with no rules, they want a Nebula Net match. Orrus and Tarval look bewildered as does most of the crowd. Istar describes it as a casket like match but with a net instead of a coffin.

- We come back from commercial and we get an interview with Quest. Quest proclaims he will get to the bottom of the disappearance of Cosmic Woman and Sunman. No one seems to care since most people hated team Injustice but he smells something rotten in this kingdom and he is going to start with the king.

MATCH #2: Killer King vs Quest
Good back and forth match, DNA SAMPLE blocked and Killer King rallied to get the win. After the match King was about to leave when Quest muttered that he couldn't fail, he doesn't accept failure. King stopped at Quest's comments that he was clearly sent by someone. King then attacked Quest demanding to know who sent him. Officials quickly break things up. "It's good to see security jump right in and break this up. This is a professional company and you just don't let someone beat up someone after a match."

- After the match we see Hyla training with Tempest and the first glimpses of the new swamp creature Quagmire! There hoping to bring gold back to Andromeda.

MATCH #3: Kenji vs Zulfiqar
Was hoping for a good match but Zulfiqar SQUASHED Kenji winning in five moves. After the match the Faye Morgan tried to get an interview with Kenji and asked what happened? Kenji seemed frustrated tried to compose himself. Morgan then asked if maybe his head was elsewhere tonight after seeing Tekeko last week. Kenji did not like that and walked off.

- We get a promo of Shayne vs Tempest in three weeks. "The last ride of the last cowboy". Tempest promises to give it everything he's got. Shayne hopes he does bring it, he is going to go down swinging and hopes someone like Tempest is the one that does it.

MAIN EVENT: Death Queen (c) the LAW Ladies Championship title against Hyla in a non-title match
In a fun main event filled with many counters which led to a fun series and the end as Hyla caught Death Queen and gets the win. By pinning the champion, Hyla guarantees herself a championship match next chapter!!!

Armour and Istar make their way out and celebrate with Hyla. She poses on the turnbuckle as Queen makes it to the entry way where she is greeted by King. He tells her she will get her next time.
