While there are not many indy guys with multiple cards (not a complaint, I should make clear!) there are some and I wondered how people use these cards? Do you use different versions in different situations or different feds you run, is there a stage at which you made/plan to make the move from one card to the other?
I'm thinking of the different versions of guys like Claudio Castagnoli, Chris Hero, AJ Styles, Bryan Danielson, Jon Gresham, plus certain Chikara guys like Green Ant, Hallowicked and Frightmare.
Obviously, the differences for some feel clear and there are clear reasons you would use the different versions, but really interested to hear people's different methods and thoughts
One example for me that I am just having to work through at the moment is Johnny Gargano. In my TNA fed I am using his Evolve card, but I also have Chikara running in the same game world and he is still in FIST, so I currently plan to use his Chikara card there which is not quite as strong, I don't think.

For me there is no one answer. Some cards are more suited for a heel run or a face run so there is that. In some cases, I use the weaker card for their early career and then the better cards as they gain experience. I have used one set in one fed and another set in another fed. One card for single runs and another card for tag runs. With Delirious and his numerous different colored masks, it was the mood he was in. One was as a face; one was as a heel, and one was when he REALLY lost his mind. I have used Koko B Ware in my WWF but when I move him to another fed it will be his Koko Ware card. Pretty sure there are some cards I have never used because before I got around to using one a new, IMO better one, came along and did not want to use the first version.

That's the awesome thing about the game. It is, after all, up to you, promoter, as Tom says. I think it's really interesting to see how others play and what ideas you can take from them for your own game. The career development way is one I have planned for Green Ant in Chikara. I haven't fully figured it out yet, but I know that as he goes on I will move from the original to the Wrestlecon card that was produced

In COTG I have used an additional card for one wrestler as a whole new wrestler numerous times. I have not done it with LOW/Indie guys yet but did come close once. I had Eddie Edwards from the ROH set then got a black and white one. The art reminded me of Chris Benoit and thought of going that direction. I of course do not condone what he did and I have hate towards the person but I also enjoyed his in ring work. In the end I decided not to do it. Another idea I have had is doing something along the lines of the fake Undertaker storyline. Not the fake Diesel or Razor mind you. But take a second card and have it be a look a like doppelganger setting up a short feud between the two. Just need to find the right situation, be motivated and of course remember it as the idea comes and goes lol.

Sometimes I use them in different ways, sometimes I just choose (like hooded AJ)

Not indy but the quebecers won the tag titles in my fed, however Pierre Carl Ouellet was injured when they lost the titles so I plan to upgrade him to his PCO indy card.
I currently use 2 versions of Chris Hero (ROH/Evolve) in another fed. His Evolve card was more for a face run or standard match and the ROH card with the loaded elbow was a heel run or anything goes match
