So... I've had a lot of trouble getting an LOW promotion going and gaining steam with it since my NWA fell apart after about three years. I've thought long and hard about it and I believe my issue has been trying to use every wrestler in the game. It's just too hard to manage it. I've decided that I'm going to try running an LOW fed with about 35-50 active wrestlers and seeing where that takes me.
I present to you the UWF in Bill Watts vision. This promotion will employee mid level guys from the LOW game. Guys that wrestled for Watts or who fits the vision of a typical Watts wrestler. The show will be weekly and in real time. I will be foregoing my slower booking philosophies for this and using the Watts tactic of hot shots on television. I hope to create an exciting and unpredictable product with good storylines. So here goes.

UWF Power Pro Wrestling #1: 05/30/09
from Tulsa, OK
Hosts are Jim Ross and Bill Watts
Music hits and Ravishing Rick Rude walks down to the ring with his manager Bobby Heenan. Rude has a mic in his hand.
Rude: Now... I want all of these Tulsa warthogs to keep it down for a minute while I take off my robe. Hit my music!
The music starts up again and Rude makes a huge production about removing his robe. He gyrates some more for the ladies in the crowd.
Rude: I am not a happy man. There's this pretender out there walking around with my UWF World Heavyweight Championship. I was robbed in Houston by a fast count from the referee. I can't believe that the UWF would hire such biased and incompetent officials for such an important match. Do you really want your belt to be so marred by scandal just a few days into it's existence? I want... no I demand that Bill Watts or someone come out here right now and make this right.
Ravishing Rick Rude and Bobby Heenan stand in the middle of the ring for a few moments. Suddenly UWF World Heavyweight Champion Dick Hutton walks down and climbs into the ring.
Rude: Well... well... if it isn't the pretender to my throne. Do you have anything to say for yourself?
Hutton: Why don't we settle this right now?
Hutton suddenly levels Rude with a big right hand. Rude stumbles to his feet and Hutton hits an atomic drop. A referee slides into the ring and calls for the start up bell.
UWF World Heavyweight Title Match: Ravishing Rick Rude d. Dick Hutton (c) w/ the Rude Awakening to win the UWF World Heavyweight Title
Bobby Heenan rips the UWF World Heavyweight Title belt out of the hands of the referee. Rude lifts his arms into the air so that Heenan can put the belt around his waist. Rude gyrates for the crowd with the UWF World Heavyweight Title belt around his waist.
Ross: I can't believe what we just saw here. There's a new World Heavyweight Champion! Rick Rude stuns the world just two days after losing to Hutton. He's the king of the mountain! Rick Rude is the World Heavyweight Champion!
Bill Apter has Buddy Rose and Sherri Martel for a sit down interview.
Apter: Now tell me... Miss. Martel. What drew you to manage a man like Playboy Buddy Rose?
Martel: I'm in wrestling for one reason and one reason only... MONEY. I want money and lots of it. Playboy Buddy Rose is a world class wrestler. There is no one in the UWF that has his mix of power and agility. No one has his technical prowess in the ring. He will be a UWF World Heavyweight Champion one day. And when he gets to that peak there's going to be lots of money for me and for him.
Apter: Will you be looking to add more wrestlers to your stable of talent?
Martel: I'm scouting several wrestlers in the UWF. More wrestlers means more money for me. But I'm not too willing to commit to anyone yet. For right now, Playboy Buddy Rose is receiving my full attention.
Apter: Mr. Rose, you lost to Ted Dibiase in the UWF World Title Tournament. Where do you go from here.
Rose: That was a temporary set back for me. Ted Dibiase is a great wrestler. He can beat anyone on any given night. Losing to him isn't a killer for anyone. It's just a fact of life that happens.
Apter: Okay, so then what are your short term plans?
Rose: I'm going to enter the UWF Television Title Tournament. With that belt around my waist it'll be really easy to get a shot at the World Championship.
Apter: A hopeful Buddy Rose looks to be going places in the UWF.
Bob Orton Jr. d. Bobby Thompson w/ a second rope powerslam
Jim Cornette is standing in the middle of the ring.
Cornette: Allow me to introduce to you the new UWF Tag Team Champions. Beautiful Bobby and Loverboy Dennis... THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS!
The Midnight Express walk down to the ring with the UWF Tag Team Title belts around their waists.
Cornette: So tell me boys. How does it feel to be the first ever UWF Tag Team Champions?
Eaton: I was going to say it felt pretty good but being on top isn't all it's cracked up to be. I'm tired of dealing with all these 400 lb. trailer park trash pigs trying to get a piece of me. Come on. I know we're in the backwoods of the south but is it too much to ask to put a weight limit on these women?
Condrey: I had a woman come up to me in a bar last night. She was missing all her teeth and wanted to come back to my hotel room and see what the UWF Tag Team title belt looked like up close and personal. I understand that all these women aren't used to seeing men like us. But please, restrain yourselves in public. We have women from all over that wants a piece of the Midnight Express. And most of these women have all their teeth and don't wash their back with a rag on a stick.
Cornette: Don't worry about it boys. I'll hire some more security for you. I wasn't aware that all of these rednecks were giving you guys such a hard time.
Eaton: It's nothing we can't handle Jim.
Condrey: Yeah, we've got our ways of dealing with the problems.
Cornette: Okay boys. I'll go call the limo and have them pick you up and take you back to the hotel.
Butcher Vachon d. Dr. X w/ the Hangman
Ravishing Rick Rude is backstage.
Rude: All is right with the world again. I am your new UWF World Heavyweight Champion. It was a few days late but better late than never. I plan to be a fighting champion. So any of you guys in the back think you can take this belt from me. Go ahead and try it. I dare you.
Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Koko B. Ware d. Randy Barber and Jim Jeffers w/ the Ghostbuster
Jim Ross is sitting at the announce table.
Ross: Here are the 8 men that will battle for the UWF Television Championship on next week's episode of Power Pro Wrestling...
Buddy Rose Hacksaw Jim Duggan Bob Armstrong Missing Link Greg Valentine Brad Armstrong Bob Orton Jr. Iron Mike Dibiase
Ross: Join us next week as we crown the first ever UWF Television Champion. Our main event is coming up next.
Main Event: Steve Williams d. King Kong Bundy w/ an elbow drop
Williams grabs a mic.
Williams: Rude... I'm going to take you up on your offer. I want a piece of you and the UWF World Championship. Name a time and a place and I'll be there.

Cowboy Hutton wins on the tourney, but Rick Rude makes things right by taking his win back right away. With Rude as champ I know the UWF will be worth checking out. And hey, there was a Randy Barber sighting, too!

I plan to use Rick Rude as my No. 1 heel on the roster. Ted Dibiase and Steve Williams will be the top faces. I was really surprised at Hutton winning the tournament but I had planned for the first show to start like that to set things up as unpredictable. I really like where it's going early on. Hail to the new champ.
I'm also eagerly awaiting Legends Originals when One Man Gang, Bob Roop and Adrian Street can get added to the roster.

UWF Power Pro Wrestling #2: 06/06/09
from Tulsa, OK
Hosts are Jim Ross and Bill Watts
A pre-taped segment of Bill Watts at a press conference starts off the show.
Watts: I've talked extensively with Dick Hutton. He says that he meant for the championship to be on the line last week and that Rick Rude should be the rightful champion for beating him.
Reporter: But shouldn't it have been signed to a contract first. So this situation wouldn't happen?
Watts: These guys are athletes. They don't care about the fine print part of our sport. They just want to go out there and wrestle. That's what happened here. Hutton accepted a challenge on the spot and didn't consider this side of it. I am standing by his wishes though. Rick Rude is your UWF World Heavyweight Champion. But, I want it settled once and for all. That's why next week on this show Rick Rude will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Dick Hutton. I've decided that the other two championships will also be on the line. Thank you for your time today.
UWF Television Title Tournament Round 1: Bob Armstrong d. Buddy Rose w/ a vertical suplex
UWF Television Title Tournament Round 1: Iron Mike Dibiase d. Missing Link by DQ
UWF Television Title Tournament Round 1: Greg Valentine d. Brad Armstrong w/ the Figure Four Leglock
UWF Television Title Tournament Round 1: Hacksaw Jim Duggan d. Bob Orton Jr. w/ the Flying Spear
Dr. Death Steve Williams is backstage with a mic.
Williams: Ravishing Rick Rude... last week I accepted your challenge for the UWF World Heavyweight Championship. Don't think that just because you have a title defense next week that I'm going to forget about you. Dr. Death is a patient man. I'll get my shot at whoever wins the match next week. It's ironic isn't it. Next week's winner will still be the loser in the end. Haha! Neither of you have faced total devastation like me before. I want you both to keep that belt shined up real nice so it's extra pretty for when I win it. Haha! See you both down the road!
UWF Television Title Tournament Semi-Final: Iron Mike Dibiase d. Bob Armstrong w/ the Top Rope Knee Drop
UWF Television Title Tournament Semi-Final: Greg Valentine d. Hacksaw Jim Duggan w/ the Figure Four Leglock
UWF World Heavyweight Champion Ravishing Rick Rude and Bobby Heenan walk down to the ring.
Rude: I want all of you Tulsa trolls to keep it down while I take off my robe. Hit my music...
Ravishing Rick Rude makes a big production of taking off his robe.
Rude: Dick Hutton. It looks like you and I will once again be battling it out for this belt. The problem for you is that your win in the tournament was a fluke. You caught me by surprise. That's all. Hutton, you should just take pride in the fact that you can be a former World Champion and leave it at that. Don't come out here next week and let yourself be humiliated by your betters. Accept the fact that Ravishing Rick Rude is the better man.
Ivan Koloff and Nikolai Volkoff d. Terry Gibbs and Snake Brown w/ the Backbreaker Drop
Ivan Koloff grabs the mic.
Koloff: Bill Watts, you should give that tag team title shot to us next week. Comrade Nikolai and I are the best team in the UWF and we just proved it a few minutes ago. The Russian athlete is superior! You know that fact. Show us that Americans can be courageous in the face of defeat. So what do you say?
Bill Watts climbs into the ring.
Watts: As I seem to recall, you lost in the first round of the tournament to Ted Dibiase and Steve Williams. What about that performance shows that you deserve a shot at the Midnight Express?
Volkoff: Stupid American. I told comrade Ivan that you wouldn't give us a shot at the titles.
Volkoff gets right in the face of Watts.
Watts: You're not helping your case at all right now.
Koloff: Nikolai... back off. Yes, we lost in the first round of your tournament. But we've also won a few matches since then. I think if you weigh the pros and cons of giving us the shot you'll see our point.
Watts: I'll consider the matter and let you know. Is that acceptable?
Koloff: Very.
The Russians climb out of the ring. Leaving Bill Watts alone in the ring.
UWF Television Title Tournament Final: Greg Valentine d. Iron Mike Dibiase w/ the Figure Four Leglock to win the UWF Television Title
The show ends with a quick glimpse of Ted Dibiase knocked out backstage. Jim Ross asks who his attacker was as the show fades to black.
