I'm going over to my sister's house for dinner on Sunday night and I plan on bringing some COTG sets and teaching my two nephews, ages 11 & 8, how to play. I figure because of their age that COTG may be a bit more up their alley than Legends or Indies. I'm hoping it goes well and that they like the game but you just never know with kids.
I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Fingers crossed they show an interest. I tried with my son (now 12) a couple years back but got no real interest shown. Sadly he’s too wrapped up in the rip off world of PlayStation and specifically fifa 🙁. I do agree COTG will probably catch on with kids better. My advice is not great but you might be better making sure you roll out the colour cards rather than black and white ones.

See what interest they have. The more we can find, the longer Filsinger can run.

That must have been disappointing that your son showed no interest in the game. I'm sure you two have found other ways to bond though.

Well good luck my friend. I do hope it goes wells for many reasons. One of them is we do need younger players to keep the future of the game looking bright. Just a few days ago I was scrolling thru the "Who Are You" thread and noticed many are in my age range 40s-50s with only a few under 40 and maybe one under 30. The thing is finding wrestling fans that enjoy using their imagination and can find enjoyment in a dice/card game.

I'll let everyone know how it goes. After getting back from my sister's house I wish I could say that the game was a smashing success with my nephews but the results were a mixed bag at best. The 8 year old found the game confusing, (which it can be a bit at first) and couldn't really get into it. Perhaps I did a poor job explaining it to him. The 11 year old liked it a bit better and rolled out a few matches with me. After a few games he was starting to get used to the charts and the flow of the game. I mentioned to him the concept of running your own wrestling promotion with the cards but he said he couldn't see himself doing that. On the plus side he did ask me to bring the game over again next time. It may not be something he plays on a regular basis like he does with his Pokémon cards but I guess the fact that he's willing to play again qualifies as a small victory.
