The Olympic Slam was his weapon of choice hitting it on both men at various times. Rude was his last victim to end the match via pinfall.
NOTES: King Kong Bundy is headed for a sabbatical off his latest losing streak. Bundy was a mainstay in the fed for sometime but he also has a commercial and small roles in some comedy films. Kurt Angle has rebounded from his loss of the Major championship and looks like he is a threat to both that title and he world title. He is dominant in all his recent matches, barely taking a 1 count never mind a pinfall. …The US Express has locked up a title shot with that triangle match victory. Also in the tag team ranks, Bobby Heenan has a new team: Nick Bockwinkel and Mr. Saito. This duo nearly won a tournament in Japan as they lost a final match by DQ. Bockwinkel claims he could not understand the warning from the Japanese referee, but sources observed it was Saito who earned the DQ for repeated rough tactics. The deal started badly as Davey Boy Smith pinned Warlord in a couple of minutes with a running power slam. The fans went wild, Riddle went ballistic and Warlord was left shaking his head in confusion.

Lanny Poffo upset Ted Dibiase using a cross body Death Jump. Sentons and backflips wore down the Million Dollar Man much to Virgil’s chagrin before the dramatic finish. Dibiase was livid at Virgil for not watching his back! The pair left together but the dissension is the first in their long relationship.
Brutus Beefcake pinned Danny Spivey with a Sunset Flip off the ropes.
Missing Link pinned Hiro Matsuda as the Link used headbutts from every angle to setup the Diving Head Butt for the win.
Warlord W/DQ over Davey Boy Smith. Warlord got his win back but Smith really matched him in the power department. When the action spilled to the floor, the Bulldog lost his cool and slammed Warlord’s trident into his ribs as payback for getting choked near the announcer’s table. The referee only saw the second use of the weapon. Despite the win, Rock Riddle’s investment to manage Warlord is definitely trending down.
Superfly Snuka used a vicious knee drop to pin Greg Valentine. Luscious Johnny’s men were 1-1 on the evening as Beefcake earned a big win over Spivey. Valentine gave Snuka all he could handle in this tooth-and-nail encounter.
Wahoo McDaniel defended the Prime Time Wrestling championship in a Triple Threat Match against the most recent former champions, Kurt Angle and Nikita Koloff.
Wahoo and Angle took turns beating down Koloff. While Nikita also did some major damage against the champion, it was Angle with the Olympic Slam on Koloff to win the first elimination. Animal was DQ’d in fall one when Ellering held Backlund from entering the ring. Backlund retaliated to kick start round two and when Boogie Woogie Man got into trouble he exploded earning a DQ for slamming Ellering onto Animal after breaking up a pin. That was all Valiant needed as he zoomed out of the corner in fall 3 to keep the pressure on Animal and landed his elbow drop finisher for the 3-count. Ellering and Hawk were caught off guard to say the least. Ellering and Animal were both suspended for their post match attack on the referee. Whoever is the first challengers for the Odd Couple, officials promised it is not the Road Warriors!!
Finally after a lengthy intermission to help the referee and setup the cage we had the main event: Major Champion Rick Rude defeated Paul Orndorff in a cage match. Rude bloodied up the former champion, landing two pile drivers to escape the cage with his title

Backlund and Valiant is almost as fun as Backlund and T-Bolt. Nice to see the newcomers ranking so highly. Thanks for reading ….. Yeah it was a shocker to win the titles. Their first step was that royal, as I modeled a 1985 PW-USA tag team battle royal where they teamed. Thought Gang and Sullivan were on their way but both Backlund and Valiant held out nicely.
