Smackdown comes on the air with a shot of the rabid crowd. We then see a pyro display with blue pyro. The shot then goes to our commentators who are sitting at the commentary table.
Jim Ross: Welcome everyone to Nashville, Tennessee! Welcome to the first edition of Friday Night Smackdown! We have a big show tonight for our very first episode. In our main event it will be Ken Shamrock and Adrian Adonis taking on Mark Henry and The Great Muta with Larry Sweeney in their corner.
Michael Cole: Tonight we are going to see who will face Tony Garea and Larry Zbyszko. There will be two qualifying matches for our semi main event. The winners of both tag team bouts will meet here tonight and the winner will face the champions at No Way Out!
Jim Ross: Let's not waste any more time. Let's go to the ring for our very first tag team match up!
Power and Glory defeated The Natural Disasters when they hit Superkick/Top Rope Splash Combo.Match Notes – This was a great match between these two teams. There were many near falls. Hercules eventually got the pin on Earthquake.
The shot then goes backstage where we see Harlem Heat standing with backstage interviewer – Sean Mooney. They are standing in front of a Smackdown backdrop and Sean Mooney has microphone in hand.
Sean Mooney: Booker T, Stevie Ray – tonight you face The Hollywood Blondes – Steve Austin and Brian Pillman. The winning team will go on to face Power and Glory later on the night. The winning team of that bout will face Tony Garea and Larry Zbyszko for the tag championship – at the No Way Out pay per view. What are your thoughts going into this match?
Booker T: Well Sean Mooney, it's very simple. We are going to beat everyone and then we are going to No Way Out and we are going to take the tag straps from Garea and Zbyszko!
Stevie Ray: That's right brother. We are the best tag team here in the World Wrestling Federation. We are the team that the fans are getting behind and tonight we are going to crush the competition and become number one contenders for the World Tag Team championship. Now if you don't mind – Booker and I are going to prepare for our matches tonight. Peace!
Harlem Heat walk off camera. The shot then goes to our commentators.
Jim Ross: Before we go to a commercial break, we have an announcement to make. There will be a new championship that will be exclusive to Smackdown! It's the WWF Cruiserweight championship and we are going to crown our first champion at the No Way Out pay per view.
Michael Cole: That's right Ross, before we get to No Way Out, we are going to have qualifying matches for the championship gauntlet that will take place at the pay per view. When we come back from commercial break we are going to our first qualifying match when Daniel Garcia takes on Matt Riddle! Let's go to a commercial break. We will be right back!
Back from the commercial break we go to Sean Mooney who is standing with Matt Riddle in front of a Smackdown back drop.
Sean Mooney: Matt Riddle, tonight you face Daniel Garcia in a Cruiserweight gauntlet qualifying match. How are you feeling going into this match?
Matt Riddle: Well Sean Mooney, I am laid back. I am playing cool. I know I am going to win – so why sweat it and worry about what's going to happen. I am the best wrestler here in the World Wrestling Federation and when I win the belt, I am going to wear it proudly. So Daniel Garcia, buckle up because I am going to ruin you!
The shot then goes to the ring for our next match.
Daniel Garcia beat Matt Riddle with a Bridging Sharpshooter.Match Notes – Fun fast paced bout. Matt Riddle nearly got the win but Garcia put him away with a Bridging Sharpshooter. Daniel Garcia advances to the Cruiserweight Gaunlet match at the No Way Out pay per view.
The show then went to a commercial break. We then go to the No Way Out report with Sean Mooney. He is standing in front of a No Way Out graphic. He sees the camera and starts to talk.
Sean Mooney: Well, No Way Out is just a few weeks away. We already know the main event – it's Ken Shamrock defending the World championship against Mark Henry. Plus, in the Semi Main Event we have Adrian Adonis defending his WWF Intercontinental championship against The Great Muta!
He pauses for a moment and then continues.
Sean Mooney: We also have the tag team championship where Tony Garea and Larry Zbyszko defend the belts! Plus we have King Kong Angelo Mosca taking on Koko B. Ware in an Anything Goes match. This show will be one not to miss! We are going to take a commercial break but when we come back we are going to go to a match between The Hollywood Blondes against Harlem Heat. Don't change that channel!
The show then goes to a commercial break.
The shot then goes backstage. We see Chyna walking the back hall of the arena. Soon she runs into WWF Women's champion – Mildred Burke. They get into each other's face.
Chyna: Mildred, you better be ready because at No Way Out – I will regain my Women's championship.
Mildred Burke: There is no way you're getting this belt back! Get ready because I am going to bring it to you!
The shot then goes to another part of the arena. We see Angelo Mosca and Koko B. Ware brawling. They trade punches and kicks. Mosca whips him into a wall. They fight some more before Federation officials break it up. The shot then goes to the ring for our next match.
The Hollywood Blondes beat Harlem Heat when they hit an Atomic Blonde on Stevie Ray.Match Notes – This was a great tag team match. Harlem Heat looked good here but couldn't get the job done.
The show then goes to a commercial break.
The shot goes to our commentators.
Jim Ross: So much has gone on tonight, it's hard to keep up.
Michael Cole: That's right. Well we are going to our next match is a Cruiserweight Gauntlet Qualifying match.
El Generico beat Mike Bailey with a Spike Brainbuster.Match Notes – Great match between these two awesome wrestlers. El Generico advances to the Cruiserweight Gauntlet match at the No Way Out pay per view.
The shot then goes backstage to Sean Mooney. He is standing with Steve Austin and Brian Pillman – The Hollywood Blondes.
Sean Mooney: Steve Austin, Brian Pillman – you have one more match tonight. If you win this match you will get a championship match at the No Way Out pay per view. Any thoughts about this upcoming match?
Steve Austin: Power and Glory, they're big and tough and they can go in the ring. The thing is – they are no Steve Austin and Brian Pillman – The Hollywood Blondes! So Hercules and Paul Roma – you better be ready because tonight is our night. We will go on to No Way Out and take those belts away.
Brian Pillman: Hercules, you're tough. Paul Roma, you're strong too. But you're not us. You see we live and breathe this business. We are taking those belts and there is nothing you can do to stop us! See you in the ring!
Hollywood Blondes beat Power and Glory when Austin hit a Stun Gun on Hercules.Match Notes – Good match. Hollywood Blondes will now face Tony Garea and Larry Zbyszko in a World Tag Team Championship at the No Way Out pay per view.
The show then goes to a commercial break.
The shot then goes to our commentators.
Jim Ross: We have just one match left here on WWF Smackdown. It's going to be a big one.
Michael Cole: Ken Shamrock and Adrian Adonis take on Mark Henry and The Great Muta!
Jim Ross: We have word that Sean Mooney is standing with Henry and Muta. Let's go to them.
Sean Mooney: My guests at this time – Larry Sweeney, Mark Henry and The Great Muta. In just a few moments you step into the ring with WWF World champion Ken Shamrock and WWF Intercontinental champion – Adrian Adonis.
Larry Sweeney: Shut up Cole, you're making me sick. Tonight my men will destroy the champions. I have nothing more to say. They'll do the talking in the ring!
The shot then goes to the ring for our next match.
Ken Shamrock and Adrian Adonis beat Mark Henry and The Great Muta by disqualification!Match Notes – Good match with some great action. Shamrock and Adonis eventually got the win by disqualification!
The four men brawl to the backstage area as the show goes off the air.
