Piedmont Championship Wrestling Winston Salem NC
Piedmont Championship Wrestling (PCW) based out of Winston Salem, North Carolina, is owned and operated by Jim Ross. Jim Ross held a press conference before PCW's first big show, which will be taped, with hopes of landing a television network deal.
Reporter: Mr. Ross, can you give us an idea of what type of wrestling we are getting with PCW?
JR: Thank you for the question. I think if you know me, you can pretty much guess at what to expect. I want the meat and potatoes of pro wrestling. I want it to feel like a big fight atmosphere, and for it to feel like two men are fighting to see who the best is.
We've got a great team here, in front of, and behind the cameras, and I have high expectations.
Reporter: Can you tell us what we can expect from this show?
JR: Well, we've ran 5 house shows in Central North Carolina already. But this presentation will be titled Day One. For us, it really is that. We've had tournaments for a world champion, and tag team champions at these early shows. We will have the finals that night.
Magnum T.A. will face Tully Blanchard for the PCW Championship. For the tag titles, The Heavenly Bodies with Mr. Jim Cornette, will face Dutch Mantell and Koko Ware. Both should be great matches.
So, we're proud of those matches, as well as what else we have in store that night. I believe we are gonna see some magic in the ring that night.
Reporter: What kind of schedule is PCW looking at running?
JR: Well,long term we want TV. We are gonna tape every show we run. We've already got quite a few shows lined up. We have a lot of house shows that will serve as fundraisers.
These house shows will help us see new talent, but we really want to be a pillar of this great community. We're gonna have hard hitting shows, but still maintain that family friendly atmosphere.
And that's what we're really all about. Providing back to basics pro wrestling entertainment, while being of service to our local community.
Reporter: You talked a little about a great team you have here, who will be working g behind the scenes?
JR: I mean we have some greats here with a lotta experience, and a lotta skin in this game. Bob Armstrong, Jim Cornette, George South, heck Dutch Mantell. All of them have done so much, and will hold integral roles here at PCW.

Steve Williams vs Paul Orndorff
Lots of fighting outside the ring early, back in and Orndorff connects with JUMPING PILEDRIVER, Williams kicks out! Williams mounts offense, but Orndorff connects with a back suplex to secure victory.
JR says that's the kind of matchup that personifies the future of PCW: Two grown ass men fighting to see who the better man is.
Gordon Solie tries to interview Orndorff, Orndorff gets irate and chokes Solie, Joe Malenko comes out to make the save and check on Solie!!
JR says Orndorff just earned a 1,000 dollar fine!
Bob Armstrong vs Mike Rotunda
The veteran Armstrong hands Rotunda a loss, after connecting with GEORGIA JAWJACKER 3 times!
Solie, holding his neck, hands the microphone to Armstrong. Bob says he still has gas left in his tank, and can't wait to face a debuting Mark Fleming on the next show!
George South vs Nord the Barbarian
Nord wins in 6 moves after hitting a leg drop.
PCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
Heavenly Bodies with Jim Cornette
Lane and Prichard connect on FLAPJACK to pin Mantell and become new tag team champions!
Vignette airs for Tommy Rich.
Magnum T.A. vs Tully Blanchard with JJ Dillion
PCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
Blanchard uses a foreign object several times then hits SLINGSHOT SUPLEX to secure what some would call an upset!

Tully as the champ will be interesting. Magnum always underperforms for me.

Mark Fleming vs Bob Armstrong
Show stealing opening match, as both men are bloodied in this battle! Fleming hits a double arm suplex, then a running tackle to finish off Bob Armstrong.
Post-match, both men shake hands.
Gordon Solie interviews Jim Cornette, the manager of the PCW tag team champions, The Heavenly Bodies.
Cornette say his team may hold the titles forever, as they see no real competition, and claim they have ran off Koko and Dutch back to Memphis. They beg for some real competition.
Samu vs Brad Armstrong
Samu make this a short match, finishing off Armstrong with a powerful running lariat.
We see sitting at ringside Father James Mitchell.
Tommy Rich vs Bob Cook
In his debut, Rich defeats Cook quickly with WILDFIRE SLEEPER
Tommy says afterwards, he may be able to assist Jim Cornette in finding some real competition!
Joe Malenko vs Paul Orndorff
Orndorff welcomes Malenko to PCW by hitting 2 JUMPING PILEDRIVERS to secure the victory!
Tully Blanchard and JJ Dillon are out on the ramp to be interviewed by Jim Ross. Blanchard says he is the champion of PCW, and will take on anyone!
Orndorff at this point is walking up the ramp, and shoulder checks Blanchard! Dillion is irate and demands an apology!

JJ Dillon is out with the PCW Champion, Tully Blanchard. They demand an apology from Paul Orndorff for his actions last week.
Orndorff comes out and grabs the microphone away from Dillion. He says he saw how Tully beat Magnum for the title. He says the way he won makes that championship mean nothing.
Dillon grows more incensed. Orndorff says they can just fight about if he doesn't like it. This skirmish causes Jim Ross to jump in the middle.
JR says tonight's show is booked, but next episode will see Orndorff and Magnum team up, against Tully and a partner of his choosing!
Nord the Barbarian vs Steve Williams
Williams gets back on track after finishing Nord with a belly to belly suplex.
Backstage, Dillion assures Tully Blanchard that he will be more than ready to be his tag partner next episode. Tully says he better find someone, and quick, or Dillon is fired!
Thunderbolt Patterson vs George South
In his PCW debut, Patterson finishes off South with a HEAD BUTT.
Backstage,Tommy Rich is spotted talking with Jim Ross.
Magnum TA vs Mike Rotunda
Rotunda score a few pinfall attempts early, but Magnum secures the pinfall with BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX.
We see Jim Cornette boasting about the greatest tag team champions ever, The Heavenly Bodies. He talks about their challengers in this non-title match, The Armstrongs. He says Bob is too old, and Bob is too green. But if they can pull off the upset of the century, sure they'll get a tag title match.
Heavenly Bodies with Jim Cornette vs The Armstrongs
Heavenly Bodies finish this fast, keeping the younger Armstrong on their side of the ring, and connecting with a ROCKET LAUNCHER as Lane pins Brad.
Post-match, Cornette waffles Bob with the tennis racket! Another ROCKET LAUNCHER to Brad! We go off the air with Cornette claiming no one can beat his team!

We start the show with Magnum T.A. and Paul Orndorff in the ring. PCW Heavyweight Champion Tully Blanchard comes down to the ring. JJ Dillon on the microphone introduces Tullys partner!
Magnum T.A. and Paul Orndorff vs Tully Blanchard and Austin Idol w/JJ Dillon
A brutal affair, as Orndorff and Idol leave each other bloodied, but Tully pins Magnum again after using a foreign object, and hitting SLINGSHOT SUPLEX for the pinfall.
Tully is quite pleased with JJ securing Idol as his partner, as all 3 men leave together.
We see highlights of The Heavenly Bodies destroying the Armstrongs. Cornette says no one can touch them, and they issue an open challenge to anyone next show!
Dutch Mantell vs Bob Cook
Dutch uses a jumping knee drop to pick up the singles victory in this matchup.
In a singles match that will happen next episode, Steve Williams will face Mike Rotunda!
Samu vs Manny Fernandez
Samu hits a DIVING HEAD BUTT to pin a debuting Fernandez in record time!
We see during the match, Father James Mitchell is out again, and taking interest in the match happenings.
Backstage, we see Tully, JJ, and Austin Idol celebrating. JJ says the rumor going around is Magnum is leaving for Japan. All they have to do is run Orndorff out the door and Tully could be champ forever!
Tully likes the sound of that, and JJ says Orndorff has a match next episode with Nord the Barbarian. JJ says he has to go find Nord, and walks off.
Joe Malenko vs Mark Fleming
Great match between two technical wrestling favorites here in PCW. Fleming g gets the STF locked in twice, but Malenko was able to get out both times. Joe battles back to hit a NORTHERN LIGHTS SUPLEX for the pinfall.
Jim Ross praises the main event, saying PCW is where it's at for the best in REAL professional wrestling!!!

Bodies take control late in the match, and hit ROCKET LAUNCHER on Tommy to pick up the victory!
Lance Russell interviews Dutch Mantell. Mantell says Koko Ware was like a weight around his neck in a pool of water, causing him to drown. Koko Ware comes out and challenges Dutch to a match next show!
Steve Williams vs Mike Rotunda
Rotunda hits a BUTTERFLY SUPLEX to win what some would consider an upset!
Jim Ross tells us we have a big main event, in Paul Orndorff facing Nord the Barbarian. JR bri is out Father James Mitchell, and asks what he is up to, coming out and watching some of these matches.
Father Mitchell: I'm only interested in the rarest of the rare, and few things can pique my interest. But I see it here in one particular individual. Soon all will be revealed.
PCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION Tully Blanchard with JJ Dillion vs. Don Kernodle (debut)
Dillion wastes no time in distracting the referee, to allow Blanchard to blast Kernodle with a foreign object to win the match!
Blanchard post-match: It's just that easy, and our Barbarian is going to cripple Orndorff!!
Paul Orndorff vs Nord the Barbarian
Orndorff hits JUMPING PILEDRIVER to pin Nord!
We see post-match, Tully Blanchard and Austin Idol join Nord in a post-match beatdown of Orndorff! No one comes to save him!
