And believe me, I don't need a ten-paragraph origin story and bio. "Akuma the Ninja is a time-traveling assassin from feudal Japan that Thantos is paying to take out Star Warrior and friends." Boom, done.

Boom, done. What about the mental baggage he carries around with him? His goals? His dreams? Favorite color?

Forget it...I wrote my own backstory for them!!! LOL
ARTAVIUS
Artavius grew up a decent athlete and found his way to Gravity Ball where he found his niche as a midfielder on the Ganymede Grenadiers. While he had some success, even an all star selection in 2071 when he set a record of 124 tackles, Artavius became obsessed with the hedonistic ways from the glam/heavy metal scene from Earth’s 1980s music scene.
Soon, drugs and alcohol spiraled Artavius out of control and he found himself at the mercy of the officials of Gravity Ball. He found himself banned from the sport and didn’t do himself any favors by trashing the waiting room while leaving.
Finding himself with limited options, Artavius knew he had to make a change. He got back into the gym and slowly tried to turn his life around. While watching a video tron during a break between his sets, he saw the United Federation of Stars and Planets announced they were lifting the ban on violent sports. Morpheus then appeared on the screen and encouraged underground fighters and athletes to try out for this new federation.
This peaked Artavius’ interest as he saw it an outlet to get back into sports and to channel his natural aggressiveness in a more positive manner. He found an open tryout that was run by Torin Caelum. Caelum liked what he saw, but knew Artavius was still too green for a full time contract, so he made him an offer to attend the practice facility for GWF on a part time contract. While it wasn’t what he wanted, Artavius made the most of it as it allowed him to train daily at a premier training facility and to wrestle occasionally on a GWF card.
Will Artavius be able to battle his demons and move forward by earning a full time GWF contract or will he fall back into his own ways?
LAO-REE
Like many others in the galaxy, the lifting of the ban of violent sports peaked the interest of Lao-Ree. He had attended many of the underground POW shows during the ban and even participated in a few of shows similar to POW on his home planet of Antares.
As the GWF was set to open, they would send many of their wrestlers on press tours to promote the opening of the fed. During one appearance, Commander Sam went off on a small tangent about hating aliens. Lao-Ree knew the history of Earth versus Cygnus, and while he knew there was bad blood between the two planets, Lao-Ree didn’t appreciate the generalization from Sam that all aliens were evil and wanted to see the destruction of Earth. Nothing could be further from the truth about Antares as the citizens lived a relatively normal life on their home planet, leaving one another alone and going about their daily life.
He also didn’t appreciate the planet of Cygnus, as they were the aggressors in many attacks on Earth and felt many in the galaxy made generalizations of all “aliens”, while many were just normal citizens trying to live their life to the fullest extent.
Lao-Ree then made his way to the GWF due to his grappling background. He felt he could teach both Sam and Torpor a lesson and help lessen the stereotypes many humanoid characters had against alien type beings across the galaxy.
SCRUFF
As a child, Scruff loved visiting his grandfather as he would tell him stories and show him videos of what many remembered as the old Earth MMA. His grandfather always felt disappointed that these sports were banned as they were entertaining and proved a viable outlet for athletes to show their skills of their selected fighting style.
Unfortunately, his grandfather passed away, leaving Scruff to isolate himself in pity and sorrow. Soon after, he saw the announcement that the “ban of violent sports” was now lifted. Never much of an athlete, and always a bit on the heavy side, Scruff decided to show dedication to his grandfather by going to the gym, getting in shape and trying his hand at the GWF.
Training seven days a week and hours a day, he felt it was his time and went to the GWF training center for an evaluation. KO Keller was in charge that day and saw the youngster didn’t have the best skills, but had one thing he always loved - determination. Keller gave him the same offer like Artavius - train at the GWF training facility and get his shot on an occasional GWF card once he showed improvement. Scruff knew it was an offer he couldn’t refuse and couldn’t help but think how proud his grandfather would be if he made it to even one GWF card
