Thanksgiving Thunderdome
The Gobbler Gauntlet
Welcome to the best Thanksgiving tradition. It is not the Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade; it is not the football games, and it is not even that uncomfortable conversation you have with your drunk Uncle at the dinner table. You know, the one about if tryptophan in turkey is the reason people get sleepy after their Thanksgiving Dinner. It is not by the way. No, the newest and greatest tradition is the...THE GOBBLER GAUNTLET.
Just like the Thunderdome two men enter, one-man leaves. In this case the loser leaves as the winner awaits the next opponent. This goes on till we get to the final match where the wrestler still standing will face Gobbler the Hit-Turkey. Just like one sees go down in the animal kingdom on a daily basis. Well maybe not EXACTLY like one sees but kind of close. Kind of.
Red Talon vs Plethador
Red Talon started in charge, but Plethador started to fight back. He slapped on a Suction Claw, but Talon was able to grab the top rope for a break. Plethador popped Red Talon with a rollover double kick. Plethador made the cover and moved on in the Gobbler Gauntlet.
Winner: Plethador via pinfall
Red Talon goes and takes a seat by the announcer's desk to watch the rest of the match. Then royal music plays and out comes the next contestant. It is King Tux.
Plethador vs King Tux
The bell rang to begin the match, but King Tux was busy putting his crown in the corner. As Plethador waited he started his arobics workout. King Tux started to dust off his crown and Plethador finally had enough. He turned King Tux around hit him with knee raises. Plethador works Tux over for a couple minutes then King Tux came off the ropes and laid Plethador out. King Tux used some of his offense before climbing to the top rope. Unfortunatly for him it took a while for him to get up there due to his tiny legs. By then Plethador had recovered and met him up there. Plethador hooked his arm under King Tux's wing and did a wing drag into the middle of the ring. That took King Tux's breath away. Plethador tried Suction Claw to get the win. The first time did not work but the second time forced King Tux to tap out. King Tux rolls out of the ring as Plethador prepares for his next opponent.
Winner: Plethador by submission
A distraught King Tux goes and takes a seat next to Red Talon. Then loud guitar riffs of a heavy metal song plays. It is that headbanging hot, Mayham, that is out next.
Plethador vs Mayham
The two men battled toe to toe in a very good match. Each man would get in some offense before the other would counter and go on their own run. After back-and-forth Plethador hit a Hundred Leg Drop then covered but Mayham kicked out. Plethador applied his Suction Claw finisher, but Mayham fought out of it. Then Mayham started to get on a roll. A Bacon Bits led to a two count. A bit later a Piggy Plex led to another close two count. The match ended up on the floor where both men brawled wildly. Back in the ring Plethador locked on the Suction Claw. Mayham tried to escape but could not and he started to fade. Finally, he submitted and Plethador had another impressive win to move further in the Gobbler Gauntlet.
Plethador via submission
An angry and frustrated Mayham goes over to take a seat with the others who have been eliminated. But he kicks over a chair before sitting down in one. Next out is his sometimes tag team partner, Armour.
Plethador vs Armour
For a short moment Plethador had control of the match. Then he tossed Armour into the corner, ran in and ended up flipped over the turnbuckle resulting in him crashing onto the floor outside of the ring. Plethador was slow to stir and once he finally got in the ring the plated one was all over him. Armour went for the kill with Disarmour but did not get the win. That came a bit later when he hit a Roadkill Release Suplex and rolled Plethador up. Plethador had a nice run, probably the first time he has ran in his life, but it has come to an end. Armour is now the one moving on. To the finals against Gobbler the Hit-Turkey.
Winner: Armour by pinfall
Plethador hangs his head as he leaves the ring but gets a nice hand from the fans. Many did not expect him to get past the first match yet alone make it this far. He sits down and stares at the ground. Then it is time for the final match. As Gobble the Hit-Turkey comes out all cocky the fans chant "gobble gobble" for him.
Gobbler the Hit-Turkey vs Armour
A fairly even match for a minute or two. Then Armour started to really tear into Gobbler. He made a few pin attempts, a couple following Disarmour, to no avail. The fight went to the floor where Armour beat on Gobbler all around the ring. Back inside it was obvious Armour was getting frustrated at not being able to put Gobbler away. So, he decided to take a short cut by using Crash & Burn. The referee would not allow it and ended the match.
Winner: Gobbler via disqualification
A weary Gobbler is having his wing raised as the victor of not only the match but the Gauntlet. Between his senses off from the beating he took and trying to celebrate his accomplishment Gobbler did not see men in white suits with tall white hats come down to gather the losers of the Gobbler Gauntlet and lead them off to the back. Now, what was that all about? Why did one put an apple in Mayham's mouth when he did not look hungry?
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!
