Looks like that UNLV might be in better shape without Sluka. Syracuse and Boise State should make for interesting opponents though. Yeah, the new QB yesterday threw for 3 TDs and ran for another TD (as part of his over 100 yards rushing as a QB) as UNLV defeated Fresno State 59-14. Earlier in the week after UNLV lost their QB in a NIL dispute, Fresno State was actually favored to win. I might be going to the game against Syracuse this Friday but I will be in California (I have a ticket to California Adventures) on the day UNLV hosts Boise State. 25 years in Las Vegas and I have never seen UNLV play this well in college football.

UNLV is tied for 25th in the AP poll and 23rd in the Coaches poll. yes!, and this is the first time UNLV has ever been ranked in the AP! This is also the first time UNLV has been 4-0 since 1976 (48 years ago) back when they were still a Division 2 school. I was hoping to go to Friday's game against Syracuse, but I won't be there this week unfortunately. Again, I was admittedly disappointed about UNLV deciding not to join the PAC-12. But the more I read about the deal they received from the Mountain West, the more I think UNLV's decision to remain in the conference is a non-brainer as they got paid more to stay in the Mountain West then they would have been projected to make (at least at the onset) in the PAC-12 AND the Mountain West gave UNLV an out clause so UNLV can still decide to leave later if invited to a Power 4 conference (which I think is unlikely) or if they do decide to join the PAC-12 at some point.
