Patrick "Red" Shetler, a former NHL linesman and broadcaster for the Philadelphia Flyers, passed away at the age of 91. The following is an excerpt from Shetler's online obituary: "Pat’s life was far from ordinary. As a young man he ran the Boston Marathon twice. He was a physical fitness instructor with the Royal Canadian Air Force until he secured a dream job as a lineman in the NHL back in the days of good old hockey with players like Bobby Orr, Tim Horton, and Gordie Howe. He was also a TV play-by-play broadcaster for the Philadelphia Flyers. Hockey was in his blood and he always kept ties in various capacities, even as a colorman for the Norfolk Admirals radio broadcast for 25 years, into his 80s. His other passion was umpiring baseball, and his strike calls were always loud and clear. He was also a talented artist and was co-owner of a very successful sign company, Admiral Signworks, in Virginia Beach for over 40 years.
