 Radio 1 DJ Annie Nightingale, the station's first female presenter, who went on to become its longest-serving host, has died at the age of 83. Nightingale joined the station in 1970 and remained the only woman on the line-up for 12 years. She was known for her passion for a wide range of music, championing everything from prog rock and punk to acid house and grime. She remained on air until late last year with Annie Nightingale Presents. Nightingale was also known for co-hosting BBC Two music show The Old Grey Whistle Test. |

 Mia Farrow's Younger Sister Tisa Farrow Dead at 72 Tisa used to be in showbiz back in the 1970s, but didn't nearly work as much as Mia -- and she certainly wasn't as famous either. Tisa was a teenager when she started acting in Hollywood, making her film debut way back in 1970 in "Homer," a hippie counterculture flick. Overall, Tisa had 15 acting credits ... including a starring role in the 1979 horror film, "Zombie." She also starred in 1978's "Fingers" and made an appearance in the 1979 Woody Allen picture "Manhattan" ... right before Woody began his relationship with Mia. While Mia was blowing up in her career way back when, she was actually pretty close to Tisa -- there's photos of them hobnobbing together in and around Hollywood as young, aspiring actresses. |

 'Seinfeld' Actor Peter Crombie Dead at 71, Played 'Crazy Joe Davola' Peter will be best remembered for his recurring role on "Seinfeld" ... his character "Crazy" Joe Davola appears in 5 episodes in season 4 ... with Joe terrorizing, stalking and threatening Jerry Seinfeld and even dating Elaine at one point. Aside from his "Seinfeld" fame, Peter acted in movies like"My Dog Skip," "Natural Born Killers," "The Blob," "Se7en" and "Rising Sun," "Born on the Fourth of July" ... just to name a few. He did a lot more work in television, actually ... having made appearances on some big-time shows over the years. |

EDIT: I thought Tisa looked familiar in that pic and was thinking Zombie was known by another name and I was right. It is known in the US as Zombi 2 and a really fun movie. I did not realize she, the female lead, was Mia's sister. For those that do not know, this was supposed to be an unofficial sequel to Dawn of the Dead when released in Italy. Along with some topless scenes it's best part is a zombie fighting a shark. Truly a great moment in cinema history.
