Wanted to start a discussion about match ratings and how promoters calculate them.
I use the system described in the Graymar Business model. Basically you add up all the tokens added to fatigue during the match then divide by two.
Example...
Wolf - 5 tokens added Plethador - 3 tokens added
Total 8 tokens - Divide by 2 - 4 Star Match.
But I also have some bonuses I add...
One star automatically to title matches. One star automatically to a special stipulation match (Cosmic Cage, Titan Death)
I just feel the addition of a Title Defense or Stipulation boops the star rating of a match.
and at my discretion I'll add stars for special things like a particularly bitter feud match or just a good match that was exciting to roll out (good back and forth).
Would love to hear other promoter's formulas.

I don't really have a formula. I just go by what I personally feel about the match and give it a rating in my head. A few things I consider though are..... Did the moves flow on offense, was it a back and forth match or one-sided, long matches don't necessarily mean good and short matches don't necessarily mean bad, did any interference make the match better or did it make it worse, maybe a ref bump added to the match and made it better, was there a lot of nearfalls, and other general things like these.

I use the "Graymar Method" as well, and I used to add a star for title matches but then realized how ridiculous it was to add a star for a title match that ended in 3 minutes or something like that.
In multi-fall matches, obviously the number of tokens is going to be a lot higher, so I divide the tokens by number of falls then divide that number in half to get the star rating.
