DALE MURPHY, the reason I became an ATLANTA BRAVES fan in 1978 and remain one to this day, deserves to be in the HoF!

I'm a full "It's not the Hall of Very Good" guy but if we're going to put in folks like Jim Rice, Jack Morris, and Harold freaking Baines, then yeah, put in Murphy, too. Who cares?

I tried putting this in the main post but it didn't embed as a video. Here is our team's tri from last night. It ended up being as long (or longer) than an AEW PPV!

Thoughts from the show:
I think Magnum TA, er T.A. is statted pretty well. I like little things on cards, but I always thought there shouldve been a mechanic before the match that Magnum can hit the BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX. Maybe before a Magnum match, roll 1 die. If the roll is a 1, Magnuma hits the finisher
I know he only did it with undercard guys, but there was something seeing Magnum intently coming to the ring, hitting his finisher, pinning the opponent and leaving. I may incorporate that when introducing him
(One other thing with a special mechinc: I think with Curt Hennig and his turnbuckle. He starts with a B, but if he gets to a 3 fatigue, his turnbuckle goes to C. Just little things to make it a little more realistic)
Belts on card. Just a pet peeve, but I’m not a fan of “regional” belts on cards. I get a world title, but just one of my things
The “Havoc rule”. I never incorporated it because of consistency. One of my weird quirks, but there are tag moves on some wrestlers on Level 1 Offense in the game, so you have no option to reroll down, so you just reroll on L1O. I just like consistency, so I just keep it you just reroll on that level of offense.
I wonder if we’ll ever see London/Kendrick in Legends. Not that I’m clamoring for them, but wonder if they’d make it to the indies line with how things play out with the game today
In regarding Gordy and Mulligan art. Totally agree. I hate that art/face for Blackjack in the color version. Just a weird looking face he’s making and doesn’t flatter him. That black and white Blackjack is a bad ass pose
In regards to Gordy partners…obviously we can’t get Michael Hayes now, but I tried forever to get Buddy Roberts. Miranda Gordy even tried to help out, but his son wouldn’t even say yes or no…he just wouldn’t answer, lol.
Bears and Hillbilly Jim eating them….as far as I know, there are no bears in Kentucky. Maybe he went on vacation to the Smoky Mountains, lol
Andre the giant. I remember that promo pic with it blacked out that Cory mentioned. I actually figured it out and it wasn’t due to any special skills…When you right click and hit save as, it showed the name as something like AndreTheGiantPromoPic. It was quickly changed, lol
Masked Superstar II. I hated using the card because it was stated as John Stuff instead of Masked Superstar II. Just didn’t enjoy it. I do agree with using generic masked guys like Mr X or the Invader, but yeah, that MS2 was kinda cheating.

I know that Murph don't have the 'numbers', he's 2 short of 400 homers, for a numbers driven sport. He was the one bright spot on pretty bad team and even won back-to-back MVPs. I don't want him to be put in just to be put in as you say. I care and always will, and I can dream. He's a first ballot Hall of Famer to me and that's all that counts.

I started listening to this podcast yesterday.
I enjoy hearing about but don't usually usually comment on the weather reports (the weather I am personally most concerned about is in Colorado and I am glad to see it is curretly snowing there) but I did see a report in the news today that the current bad weather in Iowa is impacting at least a little the campaigns for Monday's vote (i.e. DeSantis cancelled all weekend events outside of the Des Moines area.)
Joe Maurer would be my #1 pick to get inducted this year followed by Gary Sheffield since I think this is Sheffield's last year on the ballot, I remember Sheffield's rookie year was when I was in 9th grade in 1989 because that was the same rookie year as Ken Griffey Jr. of the Mariners. And as a Mariners fan, I would really like to see Adrian Beltre and/or Omar Vizquel get inducted some year too.
Tim dood a great job summarizing all the candidates. Lots of very good candidates but, as Tim expertly pointed out, many of them have some things that could cost them some votes as well.
Speaking of the Baseball Hall of Fame, it might depend on if I am teaching 6 week Summer School or not, but next year after Galacticon I am thinking of driving across the state of New York to go to Cooperstown and then possibly also go to New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine so I can get those 3 states off my list. I know from last March when I went to Connecicutt and Rhode Island on Spring Break that for me the Summer is the best time to go to those 3 remaining states I still need to see in the Northeast.
I just started listening to the Legends Teams discussion and for me Magnum T.A. has always struggled. Despite multiple opportunities, he has never even captured a secondary title. Stan Hansen, although his card is more recent, has also experienced similar struggles.
I hope someday in the future, my guess would be more likely after they retire, that Paul Londona and Brian Kendrick both receive LOW color cards. Their time and championships in WWE merit the designation IMO. Some wrestlers such as London and Kendrick deserve cards on both brands (LOW and Indies) in the game. An example I often cite for this is Jerry Lynn who has both a LOW color card and an Indie color card. Jerry Lynn is obvioulsy LOW but he is also a member of the Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame.

I got to listen to a this podcast a little more today while driving around doing some errands, so I have a few more thoughts and comments.
To answer Stu's question, Paul London does indeed have a color Indie card as does Brian Kendrick as they were part of a 2015 ROH set release. Brian Kendrick's original black and white card was a card I really enjoyed seeing when it arrive din the mail because it was the first time a wrestler I signed for the game (but I had only signed a few at that point) received a card.
I enjoyed meeting Les Thatcher and getting my copy of his color card autographed in Waterloo last Summer.
Terry Gordy and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams as the MVC in my LOW fed have been awesome together as they have held both my World Tag Team Championship and my EAWA Tag Team Championship.
Because the Hulk Hogan cartoon was what originally got me into wrestling as a kid, the Hillbilly Jim signing announcement was a 10/10 for me in terms of nostalgia, I was so glad to hear he was signed.
