Not a big fan of there being no explanation of what happened to FTR or if it will return. Some of these characters would have fit in well there, instead of doing this thing where they are scattered across time and aren’t really useable unless you’re willing to break from the official storyline..

Yeah if I get these cards they're going right to FTR with all new backstory. I like this artwork better than last week's but nothing so far has screamed out absolutely need this.

I'm a completist so it's going to be hard for me to say no to this, but yeah, I'm not feeling this so far either. I could change my mind when the final product is released but so far all the teasers have been "This 2086-89-formed team tried using a woman and for whatever reason it didn't work out." That's not really getting my mouth watering for these new characters.

I said this in the Discord and it may be blasphemous, but I feel like there's getting to be too much emphasis on the classic 2087-2090-era teams and characters nowadays. I know those are the guys that everyone first played with, and I don't want to pick on FG exclusively here--I have almost the exact same problem with a lot of the Star Wars universe, too, constantly referencing and rehashing the same characters and planets and races.

But it's a huge galaxy--I'd like to see a GWF or GWF-adjacent promotion that doesn't have to have an obligatory Titan team, an Aethran team, an AniMan team, etc.

Just a thought for any future Secret History characters, since I'm a believer in offering solutions with complaints...we know a ton of star systems have their own feds, many of which fed top guys into the GWF. If the GWF is analogous to the WWF/E then it stands to reason that from 2087-present there have to have been some Ole Andersons, Abdullah the Butchers, Stings (in his prime), and Mitsuharu Misawas who attained a level of fame in wrestling without ever appearing for the "big" fed. What about a set like that? Guys from new star systems who've never appeared in the GWF before, guys who could fit into the history of wrestling without necessarily retconning anything. Is there a prominent free agent out there that the GWF came tantalizingly close to signing but couldn't close the deal? Maybe someone who peaked in 2119 when the GWF wasn't really in financial position to be offering huge deals? Or who peaked while the GWF was stuck in Dimension Y but couldn't close a deal with the CPC either? I think that'd be a cool way to add some new lore and new races to what we already have.

I’m guessing that the newest teaser is referring to the current Exo-King, and not the original. Something like she was too sinister for his new hero team or something similar.

I don't know but I am wondering if Princess Pain might be one of the current women Tom said are in this set?

With her name Princess Pain and her finisher TAUNTING ARM BREAKER she seems more like a heel. It said that she was rejected by Exo-King and to me Princess Pain seems like somebody to me more likely rejected by the current Exo-King who is a face and not the original Exo King who was a heel. But perhaps there is more to her story that would explain otherwise.

It is still early in the roster announcements so it is quite possible none of the current women have not been announced yet (I am guessing a current woman or this set's Gladiator might be the preorder announcement,) but if there are some current women in this set then I think Princess Pain might be one of them. From the announcements, we at least know Kestral "a talented early women" and this set's Gladiator "Brute and Massacre ended that experiment" are not among the current women in this set.

Hate to break up everyone's ideas but Tom posted on his facebook that Princess Pain is "a female grappler that had aspirations to join the original Royal Court.".

Fair enough, I was just going by the Filsinger Games website news announcment which did not mention the original Royal Court but did mention Exo-King without specifying which one.

if Princess Pain is also one of the older characters then I definitley think one of the newer names or the Gladiator will be the Preorder name

Odd about rejecting one but ehhh, I'm guessing with Killer Queen there, Tom wasn't too worried about a modern woman trying to join the group.

In my corner of the galaxy, breaking official boundaries is bound to happen. As much as I appreciate the efforts officially, I only tend to use what works in my cannon. It's no different if I used someone else's ideas in my writing. No disrespect to official writings, but I respect all aspects if it fits. I like creating my own stories, that's what keeps the game interesting for me.
