"There's one guy on that channel who loves wrestling games. Has he ever heard of COTG? I doubt it." If he loves wrestling games and has never heard of COTG then he doesn't know much about wrestling game history. And if he hasn't heard of us by association with our Legends and Indie games then he has a lot to learn. Thanks for the tip though, it may come in handy. His name is Bryan Drake. I'm making an assumption about whether he's ever heard of COTG based on the fact he's never reviewed or mentioned it. But then I'm sure the game companies sent review copies to Dice Tower and they assigned Bryan to review them because he's the guy who likes wrestling games.

Related to what you are saying, I want to make a more concerted effort to send out review copies of our games and get involved in wrestling podcasts as a guest. From 2016-2022 my teaching career at NAU took up my time, but that is in the past and I have more time now.
I appreciate the great discussion here and am getting ideas for new opportunities and some new directions next year. Refocusing our energies with new goals and a new game plan will be a lot of fun.

The discussion is quite fascinating. Yeah, the biggest way to gain support is to get it out there. Grant's channel is great (and others as well) but games like Sims, Animal Crossing, Magic, Pokemon have hundreds of channels if not more showing off their stuff.
I do agree things like demos at stores will at least get eyes on the product and hopefully buys as well. If people could get some demo sets of Best of COTG, Indies and a new Best of Legends, I think that would help tremendously.

I do think there is untapped potential in adjacent communities within the hobby. There is so much crossover from gamers between COTG and other companies like PLAAY and Go Fight Pow that could be explored more.
I was at PLAAY con this summer and talked COTG with Dave Little and several others. Sports Sim Magazine publishes bimonthly and their publisher is a great guy who would absolutely run a feature or article on the game and expand its reach within the sports gaming community.
People in this hobby and others similar to it are super passionate and loyal people who want these things to grow and I think it's more important than ever to trust in them to help grow outward in different directions.
Looking for a "new" audience is a great outcome but I think it's ironically best achieved by turning to long time fans first and trusting them to help lead the way. That can only strengthen the sense of shared growth.

I know some conventions are expensive (looking at you GenCon) but I think having a presence at some of the medium size conventions that are becoming more popular would be great. I loved seeing Filsinger Games at GenCon but understand if that is no longer a possibility.
Maybe if there was support for people running tournaments at other conventions we could draw in more people. I usually don’t run games at conventions but this is my favorite and I think I could handle teaching to newcomers. I usually attend gencon and Gamehole con in Madison that I think would be perfect to grow the game.

Some great thoughts about this topic on the discord. I love discord, so much easier to talk without ads and stuff.
This game should be way bigger than it is, if you're a wrestling and comic fan I feel like this is a must buy. So many people never heard of it.
Maybe we need to get a booth or something somewhere for mania weekend

While the game needs to find other venues to be displayed to the public, word of mouth is still a good way and one we all can do. Taking LOW/Indie cards to shows to get signed has the potential to get the attention of other fans of wrestling. A good chance to get possible new players excited.

I offered several times to demo the game here in Ohio, from Columbus to Dayton, at some BIG gaming shops. I just needed some product, but it always went nowhere. I offered to run a booth at ORIGINS GAMING CONVENTION here in Columbus or even GENCON in Indy several times, but again nothing came of it. GALAXY CON will be at the Convention center here in Columbus, Ohio Dec. 6-8th and Daryll Bank$ will there as well. I offered to run a booth at this event last year, Bank$ was there too, and yet again it didn't happen. www.eventeny.com/events/vendor/?id=13803

Very cool I didn't even know about Galaxy Con. I'm in Cincinnati and would probably be able to assist with any kind of demo type stuff there if it came to pass.

I have to hand it to our amazing community. You've really lit a fire under me and with more time on my hands I want to implement some of these ideas in 2025.
Reducing our release schedule to three will give us more time to focus on advertising and promotion and I think it will pay off over time.
My goal by the end of 2024 is to come up with a plan to implement in 2025. This isn't exactly my strength, but I will work on it. Like Stan, my natural talents are creating, writing and meeting people in person. But I will work on this and if need be come up with a team that can assist.
And by all means please continue to share your thoughts.
