Kronos: REGENERATION
“Search and Destroy!”
A Spring 2024 3-Pack Giveaway.
Characters and stories by Rob Beaubien. Art by Werner Mueck.
The following story occurs in sequence after Kronos: Resentment and Kronos: Retaliation.
Scene: The Planet of Castilex.
Monolith sits alone in his ship, nursing his many injuries after a torrid 2138 feuding with Apex. He checks his wrist communicator. He has been waiting months for instructions from Vizir about his plans for the new year in 2139. But no instructions ever come.
Monolith chucks his wrist communicator against the wall, shattering it to pieces.
He winces in pain, while preparing for travel to his next destination.
The ship is on autopilot, headed for Kroll.
Monolith grits his teeth in anger, thinking about how he has been used up and abandoned by his creator, the famous Kroll scientist, the Dark Menace, and left behind by every ally and partner he’s ever had.
Monolith was just a youth when the Dark Menace used mysterious and powerful eugenics techniques to turn the Andromedan into a mighty genetic beast. And now, with his career near its end, Monolith is a lost soul. He is severely damaged from years of battle, with a nasty scar across his face and an injured eye that he is now blind in. Hurt and alone, the colossal Monolith sits aboard his small ship and returns to the only place he knows - the beginning.
Monolith’s ship lands on a long abandoned military base in a secluded area on Kroll. Like his physical image, the area is beat down and left for dead by whomever originally used it. Monolith limps into the main base and screams out for the Dark Menace to come find him again! Monolith wants to start over, fearing the end of all things. Finally, he collapses on a rusty surgery table and passes out.
Scene: The cockpit of a magnificent Kroll scavenger ship.
A honing device chirps as a target has been found. A three-fingered hand of an unknown pilot presses some buttons on the manifold and sets a destination for the abandoned military base where Monolith landed.
Days have passed. The Dark Menace predictably never shows up. But on the fourth day, the large Kroll scavenger ship locates Monolith.
Two giants exit the ship. They find Monolith passed out and near death. They carry his body into their ship and return to the skies where they disappear.
Bios -
XENOLITHAllies: The Alchemists (Synthron & Mechanos) (Regeneration)
Feuds: Pegasus, Cosmos, Chaos Supreme, Mayday, Spike.
FINISHER(S): DECAPITATOR. Xenolith comes flying out of the gates when an opponent is merely dazed with the signature running Gladiator clothesline!
ANDROMEDA DROP. Xenolith goes back to his roots with the classic AniMan missile dropkick from the top rope to take his enemies out from high above.
CRASHING STAMPEDE. Xenolith embraces his inner rhino by turning his signature running spear into an unpredictable and deadly new finisher! The impact of CRASHING STAMPEDE depends on the speed, power and accuracy of the spear. When Xenolith gets it all (including using his rhino horn to smash the opponent) it’s lights out!
Note: CRASHING STAMPEDE is a roll finisher. Roll one die. The result of the roll (1-6) is the finisher rating.
Note 2: Xenolith often starts matches by stalking his prey using a new weapon, a laser scope eye installed in him by Mechanos. The laser scope eye replaces the eye he lost sight in thanks to the facial injury he suffered in a catastrophe many years ago.
The laser scope eye searches for an opponent’s weaknesses, sending a raging Xenolith directly at the target to be destroyed!
When you roll Search and Destroy, found on Xenolith’s level one offense, roll one die. On rolls of 1-2 roll again on level one offense (this sequence can continue if you roll Search and Destroy again - simulating Xenolith carefully scanning his opponent searching for an opening). On rolls of 3-5 roll on level two offense. On a roll of 6, Xenolith goes in for the kill! Roll on level 3 offense.
This mechanic is always in play, and can occur anytime during a match, and not just at the beginning. So the opponent better be on the look out from bell to bell as Xenolith looks to search and destroy!
Monolith lived in the moment his entire career. Now Xenolith lives in the past, pent up with repressed anger and resentment.
The Alchemists regenerated Xenolith physically, restoring his body to near-prime condition. But they left the trauma in his mind and heart intact. The result is a bitter, dangerous, vengeful Xenolith with no stops!
And after doing the bidding for others his entire life, Xenolith now fights only for himself. His goal is nothing short of the COTG Crown of Kronos, and he’s willing to go through every main event wrestler on Kronos to earn it! Xenolith has thrown down direct challenges to Pegasus, Cosmos and Chaos Supreme! Talk about dream matches that fans can only get on Kronos!
But Xenolith is drawing the attention of new enemies, too. Mayday stands in his way for ultimate Kronos supremacy, as Mayday sees Regeneration as unwelcome invaders to Kronos who must be stopped by any means necessary. There is also the tried and true hatred between Kroll and the Gladiators that will never go away. Xenolith versus Spike offers yet another incredible dream match for promoters to book! Can you imagine Xenolith hitting Spike with DECAPITATOR? On Kronos, it’s a reality!
Xenolith is fully regenerated and on the hunt to search and destroy!
SYNTHRONAllies: Mechanos, Xenolith (Regeneration)
Tag team: Alchemists (with Mechanos)
Feuds: (in singles) Omega, Infinity, Solaris, Preceptor, Commander Sam.
(In tag) Infinite Power, Guardians, Desolation Factor, Gladiators, Twin Telepathy.
FINISHER(S): RECONSTRUCTION - A top rope burning hammer. Synthron uses his intimidating combination of size, power and agility to climb the turnbuckles with the opponent draped over his shoulder where he then throws them into the air and onto the mat with a devastating top rope burning hammer.
ARCHITECT ARC (tag). A double razors edge power bomb. The two seven foot giants each grab an arm of the opponent and hang him up high in the sky, before using their incredible size and power to send the opponent crashing into the mat from the highest of heights. The fall is so damaging it spells the end for even the strongest opponents.
The Alchemists are a highly advanced superior race from Kroll. They have been watching Kronos from behind the scenes for many years, plotting their arrival and their attempt to re-establish Kroll as the master race of the universe by defeating everyone in their paths at the Crossroads of the Galaxy!
With Monolith abandoned and available to be molded and regenerated into a living, breathing, destroying machine, the perfect time finally presents itself for the Alchemists to hatch their plan. Together, the Alchemists and Xenolith make the most powerful and dangerous faction in all of Kronos!
Regeneration arrived to Kronos in grand style during a main event match between Hades versus Omega at the COTG Coliseum.
Right in the middle of the match, a giant spaceship suddenly appeared in the sky, hovering over the ring! We’ve seen uninvited wrestlers appear out of thin air on Kronos before - but never an entire ship. What a brazen entrance!
The Alchemists immediately made their intentions known, each challenging Hades and Omega to face them one on one in the ring, and together in tag team action - if they dare! The Guardians, not known for ever backing down from a fight, immediately accepted!
Mechanos let out a gargantuan bellow in response to their bravery.
Just then a single red dot appeared on the forehead of Hades! Omega leapt out of the way, but before Hades could react, he was crushed by a charging Xenolith who ran from the ship and hit Hades with a CRASHING STAMPEDE!
The crowd sat in shock as a youthful and energized looking Xenolith stood over Hades! The Alchemists stared down Omega before coaxing Xenolith back on the ship, where they returned to the sky in one of the most dramatic debuts ever on Kronos!
Synthron can best be described as controlled fury. Full of energy that runs through his veins, he is high intensity at all times. Possessing impressive physical ability for a giant, Synthron makes a worthy rival for some of the very best wrestlers on Kronos like Omega and Infinity! Can Synthron break through the top ranks of COTG and challenge for the Crown of Kronos himself?
Synthron also faces main event feuds against Commander Sam, Preceptor and Solaris, who all have major bones to pick with the Alchemists for varying reasons.
The Alchemists look down on everyone around them, regardless whether they are heroes or villains. And part of their plan is to not just defeat their enemies in the ring, but to expose them as weak and inferior races.
This controversial attitude does not sit well with proud fighters like Commander Sam and Preceptor. Both Earth First and the College of Kronos feel like they must stand up to Regeneration and prove them wrong!
On top of all of that, Synthron relentlessly taunts Solaris about the Alchemists effortlessly breaching the portal.
“Solaris isn’t just old, he’s old news! The Alchemists are the new and the improved rulers of Kronos! Face me if you dare! But prepare for a complete RECONSTRUCTION! When I’m done with the filthy old wizard, there will be no use for him ever again!”Brave words from the energized Synthron.
When not fighting in singles action in pursuit of the Crown of Kronos, the Alchemists form one of the most dangerous tag teams to ever step foot through the Crossroads of the Galaxy. They face headlining feuds against the top tag teams at the Crossroads in competition for the COTG Tag Team Championships. Their presence is so alarming, it’s even caused lifelong enemies like Omega & Hades and Infinity & Infinity-Plex to take temporary breaks from their own personal differences to unite and fight the Alchemists in historically epic tag team extravaganzas!
Buckle up, the Alchemists arrival is changing the entire landscape of Kronos!
MECHANOSAllies: Synthron, Xenolith (Regeneration)
Tag team: Alchemists (with Synthron)
Feuds: (in singles) Hades, Infinity-Plex, Paralyze, Mentor, Nikolai.
(In tag) Infinite Power, Guardians, Desolation Factor, Gladiators, Twin Telepathy.
FINISHER(S): POWER DOWN (singles). The gigantic and immensely powerful Mechanos grabs the opponent by their head pushing both hands against their ears and squeezing with all of his strength until they submit or pass out.
ARCHITECT ARC (tag). A double razors edge power
bomb. The two seven foot giants each grab an arm of the opponent and hang him up high in the sky, before using their incredible size and power to send the opponent crashing into the mat from the highest of heights. The fall is so damaging it spells the end for even the strongest opponents.
Mechanos is currently the top scientist on Kroll. He is obsessed with power, challenging like-minded villains Hades, Infinity-Plex and Nikolai to meet him one on one in the ring for ultimate bad guy supremacy!
Mechanos is calculating, sinister and evil. He is dangerously intelligent. He had studied the workings of the Dark Menace for years, but he also has his own tricks up his sleeve. Mechanos is more than capable of dethroning all of his enemies from their perches and assuming full control on Kronos. Can he be stopped? Or has the future leader of the villain team on Kronos arrived?
The Alchemists see themselves as the true kings of Kronos, and contend that they are responsible for all of the recent conflicts including the arrival of uninvited wrestlers.
In fact, it is the Alchemists who brazenly admit it was them who assisted Hades in smuggling uninvited wrestlers into Kronos over the past few years. Mechanos brags that the highly-advanced technology possessed by Kroll supersedes the need for an operating portal to and from Kronos.
“With the knowledge we posses, there are no boundaries in the universe. That knowledge was sold to Hades in exchange for his promise to face us in the ring one day should we meet again. Now we are here, and Hades will be forced to keep his promise, falling at the feet of his new master - the mighty Alchemists!”This admission puts the Alchemists in direct violation of galactic travel laws set forth by Solaris. And there will be consequences if Solaris has any say in it.
Massive and powerful, Mechanos batters his opponents with moves like Skull Collapse (a giant head butt), Sky Drop (a press slam drop) along with his two signature maneuvers, the Alchemist Energy Grip and his trademark Mandible Tri-Claw.
The Alchemists have very strong feelings about how Kroll has been presented in the past, losing a bloody feud to the Gladiators which ultimately led to the Dark Menace leaving Kroll and eventually joining the enemy he could not defeat. That loss was a damaging blow to the proud Kroll race. Seeing the Dark Menace lead the Gladiators was insult to injury.
For years Mechanos has trained and studied to not only follow in the footsteps of the Dark Menace - but succeed where Menace once failed. For Mechanos, matches against most opponents are all business. But matches against the Gladiators are always personal. There are no bigger matches than when Mechanos steps in the ring with Paralyze in a battle of giants!
It’s the cherry on top for Mechanos to achieve his goals for total dominance with the aid of the genetic beast that the Dark Menace once proudly created - then discarded. With Xenolith destroying all who stand in their way, Regeneration has the goal of capturing all the prizes Kronos has to offer by winning the COTG tag and trios championships along with the COTG Crown of Kronos.
Has the time come for Kroll to finally establish themselves as the master race in the universe? Or will the combined efforts of Champions Oath, the hero team and the villain team thwart the plans of Regeneration?
It’s the ultimate fight on Kronos when Regeneration clash with the greatest wrestlers in the galaxy for the most coveted prizes at the Crossroads of the Galaxy!
