I would count it. If you are on the ground and in a building that is being in the state. Of course, one's own personal qualifications is what matters. If you just fly over a state, I do not count it but if you make touchdown, you are in the state. I do not put any other requirements on counting it. Do not have to spend a certain amount of time, do not need to have meal, do not have to go so many miles into the state or anything like that. If you are in, you are in. Just like back in the day before they put a statue there if a person stood at the four corners (Point where Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico all meet) where your feet covered a bit of each state you could claim you were in four states at the same time.

I believe you are thinking of the age-old question "if she does not know you are in does it count" . Long as you are in a state you have officially been in it. Even if you have a hood over your head and hands cuffed behind you the whole time. Not that I would know about that or anything. What's your take on airport layovers? When I went to Florida in 2011 I had layovers in Minneapolis on the way there and Atlanta on the way back but I personally don't count Minnesota or Georgia as states I've visited since all I saw was the airport. In addition to Florida I've been in Washington, California and New York. This August when I'm in Nevada for the CAC Reunion I'll also be able to add Arizona to my list as I'm taking a day trip out to The Grand Canyon. Out of the 13 provinces/territories of Canada I've been in 4 of them: British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and The Yukon Territory. I hope to make it to all 13 in my lifetime although I don't know where I would visit in Saskatchewan as according to people who've visited and lived there it's the dullest place in the country. I personally do not count flight layovers if you just stay in the airport which is why I am leaving the airport in Nashville on my 5 1/2 hour layover there and going into nearby downtown for breakfast. I also did not count Kansas when I traveled through the state by train on my way to Waterloo in 2018 as I never left the train (although I thought about settign my alarm at around 3:30 AM for the brief stop at Dodge City so I could get out of the train and count it.) But I got to add Kansas and Nebraska when I visited both states last year on my way to Galacticon.

uh oh, I just got this Email from American Airlines:
Adverse weather, which may impact portions of the Northeast on June 26, could affect your upcoming travel with American Airlines. At this time, there is no change in your flight plans. However, to better accommodate customers, American is offering additional flexibility that may allow you to adjust your travel plans without a fee
I did not book through American Airlines, I booked through Expedia so hopefully my flight to Philadelphia tomorrow night and then my connecting flight to Buffalo will not be impacted by any of this adverse weather in the Northeast.

I am getting ready to leave for my flight tomorrow night. I have to take a Lyft to the airport tomorrow because the daily parking fees would be prohibitive for me to leave my truck there the entire time. Hopefully my Lyft ride tomorrow will be better than the Lyft ride I took last year to the airport to leave for Galacticon where the driver ignored a red light, sped through the construction site for last year's upcoming Formula 1 Grand Prix race, quickly went across 3 lanes at once without using a turn signal, and then unsafely dropped me off in the thru traffic lane instead of in the departures area. I don't think I gave her a tip.
Hopefully my two flights to Buffalo tomorrow night don't get altered and I will see J and Tim on Thursday night. I am looking forward to trying a beer at J's brewery, I am sure it is much better than either LaBatt which I had last time in Buffalo or that nasty churro beer I had in Kansas City, Kansas last year on my way to Galacticon.

I've been fortunate enough to do two cross country bus tours and that bus rolled through a lot of states. Sadly we didn't stop in all of them, like Oklahoma, so I don't count being in Oklahoma even thought...technically. Usually I like to spend a night in a state to say I've truly been there, but I haven't spent a night in Kentucky. I did visit the Vent Haven museum there though, so I do count it because I did go there on purpose to see something. Oklahoma, North Dakota and Louisiana are still on my to do lists for sure.

Just wanted to post about an item I'm donating for the upcoming GalactiCon auction.
It's a Smoky Mountain Wrestling t-shirt purchased during Fanweek 1993. White, size XL (never worn), with the SMW logo and slogan (Wrestling...the way you like it!) on the front.
Has the following TWENTY autographs on the front and back: Trainees Anthony Michaels and Tommy Bryant Dirty White Boy Tony Anthony Dirty White Girl Jim Cornette The Heavenly Bodies, Dr. Tom Prichard & Gigolo Jimmy Del Ray The Rock & Roll Express, Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson White Lightning Tim Horner Bobby Blaze Kevin Sullivan Dutch Mantel Announcer Bob Caudle Suicide Blonde Chris Candido Tammy Fytch The Big Bossman Steve Armstrong Scott Armstrong And, of course, Bullet Bob Armstrong
It's a one of a kind item, and I hope it brings a decent price to help the Dan Gable Museum.
