I really wish I had grabbed lunch before the con Saturday. The pizza was okay but went so quick and I only took two pieces. Shawbucks was okay but expensive for what it was. Jamestown not really known for their food eh?

The one downside of Jamestown for sure. Yeah, same, got two pieces of pizza and it was all gone.
Was one of my favorite cons. I will somehow figure a way to get there next year cause it would likely be missing out in hanging with my extended family for a weekend.
Also, you're welcome Todd. Canada Cup after running tournaments all weekend is exhausting. Much easier for me to run online ones instead.

Live and learn. I chalk up the light pizza order to saving room for hotdogs at the ball game that unfortunately was rained out. I too got two pieces, but I supplemented it with a couple pieces of adult chicken nuggets lol.

I still have not returned home from Gaalcticon yet as my post-Galacticon road trip continued today as I drove into Maine for the first-time ever.
Of the 3 new states (Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine) I have visited this week, I think I liked Maine the best but Vemront was the most scenic to drive through.
In Maine today, I was mostly in downtown Portland where at one restaurant I had some local Maine oysters from different local Maine waters. I like oysters alot and these were great. For desert at lunch, I had Whoopie Pie. Whoopie Pie is a signature Maine desert and it is basically a chocolate cake sandwich cookie with gooey marshmellow in between the chocolate cake sides of the cookie. It was delicious.
I then had a local beer at a brewery near the Portland, Maine waterfront before heading out to Hadlock Field to see tonight's AA baseball game between New Hampshire and Portland. The game was sold out as it was fireworks night (no game there tomorrow on the 4th) but the ticket window said I could buy a seat in the handicap section which turned out to be a great seat. But if I was to return in the future, I would probbaly choose to sit in the Maine Monster which is elevated outfield seating based on the Red Sox Green Monster (Portland is the AA team for Boston) but nowhere near as high as the Green Monster. Plus if you sit in the Maine Monster for $40, you get all you can eat and the food in the other concession stands is all the same and nothing special. I had a Fenway Dog which was very small and only tasted like an average hot dog. So I went back for a slice of pizza and it was awful. The two local Maine beers I had tonight at the game (they had a local brewery as a vendor) though were very good.
Portland won 8-5 after trailing for most of the game. The game fell apart for New Hampshire in the bottom of the 7th when they were one strike away from ending the inning only to give up a grand slam that gave Portland a 2-run lead. On the very next pitch, the New Hampshire pitcher who gave up the home run hit the following batter in the shoulder leading to him getting ejected by the umpire. New Hampshire's manager then ran out and complained and he got ejected too.
Looking forward to going to Massachusetts tomorrow and then flying home to Las Vegas very early on Friday morning.

Whoopie Pies are a Pennsylvania staple too. Yes, I have had Whoopie Pie in Pennsylvania too. Apparently there is a debate about who created the first Whoopie Pie. But I like Whoopie Pie in Maine AND I like Whoopie Pie in Pennsylvania. No matter where you eat it for desert, Whoopie Pie is good.

I have only had the mass produced ones you buy at a store. A more freshly made one would be mighty good I am sure. Keep enjoying your trip, Zeke. Hope traffic is not too bad for you tomorrow. Also you don't have to deal with drunk drivers.

So you would eat them here or there, you would eat them anywhere?😁 Did you ever think in your life that you would type a paragraph with the word "whoopie" in it five times? Enjoy the rest of your trip!🙂
