It's not a "clothing optional" event, but you don't need any traditional golf-specific attire. Shorts, tank top and sandals are fine. Very casual, family-friendly atmosphere. If you suck, cowboy up, do your best and finish the round. Then have a few GalactiCon beers to celebrate.  , if I suck, should I not wear my Hardcore Chocolate Destroyer T-Shirt. Thanks for the info. I figured as much but wanted to make sure. Don't own tennis shoes. Only dress shoes for work and sandals. If I can make it and if I play I'd only stop if I was holding everyone up. Only golf in my life is of the mini variety. But I'll give it a try. Grip and rip. Thanks again. |

While I'd like to play Destroyer Park Golf and eat at Ilio's, I can't justify driving all the way up to Buffalo and then back down to Jamestown.

Thanks again. I believe there is a 7 or 8 stroke limit on the holes, so there is a point where you can just pick up and move on if things get sideways.  |

Its the Destroyer Park Golf that adds the extra time. But when are you going to be that close again? |

Thanks again. I see it as basically super sized mini golf. You just have the one club. Dont be intimidated because its on real grass. Funny you only wear sandals and dress shoes, because I rarely wear either of those. I work at home, so usually just in house shoe slippers and sneakers. Dress shoes get pulled out maybe 4-5 times a year for work trips. |

I am looking forward to seeing everybody in Jamestown next month! I am actually flying in a day early on Thursday morning to Buffalo where I plan to eat some wings for lunch and then that evening go to j's brewery and then walk over with him and Tim Dalton to the Buffalo Bison's venue to see the Syracuse vs Buffalo AAA game that night. I will participate in Destroyer Park Golf even though I definitely do not expect to do very well at it. Really looking forward to dinner at Ilio's! Italian food is awesome and I ate it every day when I was in Rome last December. I won't have a car in Buffalo and I am hoping somebody can give me a ride to Jamestown if I can give them some gas money. After Galacticon is over, that Sunday I plan to go to Cooperstown and visit the baseball Hall of Fame but I will probably crash in Cooperstown that night and then go to the Hall of Fame that Monday as I know Jamestown and Cooperstown are quite a distance from each other. After I go to the Hall of Fame, I plan to drive to Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine to cross those 3 states off my list which means after I go to Georgia next weekend (and possibly Tennessee later this Summer) I will only have 10 states left to visit. |
