Strays (2023) Film about a dog that gets tricked and ends up homeless and joins other stray dogs. Funny but when we saw trailer, it gave us the impression it was a family film. It aint, got alot of swearing and adult/sexual themes in it. Not bad, love dogs then check it out.

Yea I bet a lot of people went into that movie thinking it was family fare only to find out it was far from it lol. I saw either a trailer or the poster and realized it might be kind of like a bait and switch.

I saw either a trailer or the poster and realized it might be kind of like a bait and switch. Reminds me of a few years ago whrn my buddy and I went to see the remake of The Bad News Bears. There were several parents in the theatre with their kids who appeared go be taken aback by the amount of foul language in the film. Just because a movie has kids in it doesn't mean it's for kids. Parents really need to check content advisories beforehand. I also remember going to see a local production of Avenue Q on stage a few years back and seeing a father with his young son sitting in the row in front of me. I think he may have thought that since the show had puppets in it that it must be for kids. There was one line in the song "My Girlfriend Who Lives In Canada" that graphically refers to pleasuring a woman with one's mouth. The kid looked over at his dad and audibly asked him what that meant. I'm sure that must have been a VERY awkward car ride home. My personal favorite story though when it comes to objectionable content was back in 2002 when we were showing Gangs Of New York at the theatre I was working at. A woman came out afterwards and very rudely complained to me about the violence, language and nudity in the film and advised us to put a warning up about the movie. I politely informed her that the movie was rated 'R' and that we had the rating posted on the showtime board, our website and our automated showtime recording all of which was required by law. I reminded her that 'R' rated movies commonly contained foul language, graphic violence, sexual content or all of the above. This still wasn't good enough for her though and after listening to her complaining some more I matter-of-factly said to her: "Ma'am, the movie you just saw contains the word "Gangs" in the title. That should probably indicate to you that it's not a Disney film." She then walked away speechless and several people who were standing around watching the spectacle burst out laughing.

She is one of the problems these days. People who do not want to think for themselves and expect others to make things as idiot proof as possible. I mean why did she go to watch a movie she knew nothing about? My only educated guess is she associated Gangs of New York with the New York gangs in West Side Story and was expecting singing and dancing.

I would TOTALLY be on board for a Gangs Of New York musical; especially if they managed to coax Daniel Day-Lewis out of retirement to reprise Bill The Butcher. Phantom Thread was too much of a snore-fest for that to be Day-Lewis’ final film.

He was out walking around sporting tats all over his arms. Looked like a rock star. They said he has confirmed that he is done with acting so if he does comeback it will be awhile.
