Great episode,. Had some great discussions about comics at last years Galacticon with some of the esteemed members of the panel.
My favorite Books Avengers, Captain America, Green Lantern, Powers, 100 Bullets, X-Men, Fables, Saga, Alias…..could probably go on with a long list like Sam.
Favorite artists John Byrne, George Perez, Mike Oeming
Favorite writers Bendis, Johns, Priest, Brubacker, Vaughn, Gaiman and Alan Moore
Favorite storylines Kingdom Come, Dark Phoenix, Winter Soldier, Kang Dynasty, Hard Traveling Heroes, Silent Interlude
Don’t really consider myself a collector anymore, just a reader. Think I’ve sold my collection several times over in my close to 5 decade love of Comic Books

It's mark of a good episode where I have little idea what's being discussed, but still enjoy it anyway.

Another fine episode.
Comics!
This kind of thing is my bag, baby.
The Punisher, Silver Surfer, classic X-Men, Green Lantern, Invisibles and all of that oddball Grant Morrison stuff, Saga before the years long hiatus ruined momentum, Spawn, Cyberfrog. Hundreds of other in the honorable mentions.
Writers like Frank Miller, Mike Baron, Chuck Dixon, Geoff Johns, Alan Moore in his prime, the aforementioned Morrison, and Mark Millar.
Artists Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane, Ethan Van Skiver, George Perez, John Totleben, Steve Bissette, Mike Zeck, and again the hundreds of honorable mentions.
Game talk: Completely down for the new DDP card. He was such a cornerstone of WCW and the wrestling world in general during the biggest period in the history of the business. He deserves it.
GWF: Yeah, this year is weird. I can't wait to see what Tom has planned keeping so much so close to the vest.

Nice change a pace to go down the rabbit hole and was definitely out of my depth as well on some of those Indy labels but could keep up for most of it so that's a good thing that I learned some new things and will be looking into some trades for a few of these collected stories.
Messiah Complex definitely shot to the top of my list as I actually checked out on X-Men right at the House of M story as that was my breaking point.

This was a good listen. I don't read nearly as many comics as I used to. I consistently pick up Daredevil trades, the Jaime Hernandez trades of Love & Rockets, Usagi Yojimbo, Astro City, the EC Library from Fantagraphics, the Peanuts collections from Fantagraphics, Blacksad. I'm sure I'm forgetting some. The smaller masterworks trades Marvel is putting out now are great too. All-timers would be James Robinson's Starman, Preacher, Planetary, Gotham Central and others I can't think of at the moment.

I really, really enjoyed the conversation. I just can't get enough "comic book talk."
I wanted to mention a book I forgot about during our discussion, which pertains to the overall wrestling-Ness of the show and boards.. Hellboy in Mexico. It is maybe my single favorite comic issue I've ever read. Hellboy, who is drunk in Mexico, gets mixed up with a couple luchadors and eventually has to battle a bat demon in a wrestling match. Written by Mike Mignolla and drawn by a true master, Richard Corben.
Wanted to emphasize everyone should find a copy of Do A Powerbomb. Really, really good stuff.

I'd like to see DWJ do another wrestling-oriented comic.
