LotF's own Tyler Black came oh-so-close to winning the ROH World title last night. Competing in a 3-way elimination match, Black eliminated ROH champ Jerry Lynn, before being pinned by Austin Aries. I can proudly say I witnessed history last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom, as Aries became the FIRST two-time World champion in ROH history. Other LoW / LotF stars in action last night included the Young Bucks, Necro Butcher, Claudio Castagnoli, Bryan Danielson and Jimmy Jacobs, who actually beat Black earlier in the card in a "first blood" match, courtesy of you guessed it...the railroad spike! Also in attendance was Nature Boy Ric Flair, who because of WWE "restrictions" couldn't do anything more than come out, address the crowd, flirt with the ladies & wish us all a good night. Sometimes I really, really hate the WWE!
Those in the general vicinity of NYC may be interested to hear that ROH will be returning on 09/26/09 to the Grand Ballroom, which is located upstairs from the Hammerstein. WWE Hall of Famer & my personal favorite wrestler of all time Bret Hart will be appearing at the show.

Tyler Black is going to become a major player in coming years. There is something about the guy I really like, and I think he has a decent shot to make a national impact as a wrestler.
The WWE restrictions are tight, but it's the price you have to pay when you take money from Vince McMahon. You want WWE money, you live by WWE standards.
Wrathchild, I got to meet Bret Hart at an IWC show back in 2003, and he is an outstanding guy. Definitely one of the best wrestlers I've ever met (with my all time #1 being Ted DiBiase).

I read that Aries won the strap in the 3-way. Tyler Black has always impressed me and I think he will be ROH champion before the year ends.

By the way, I'm going to order the PPV tomorrow. I want to show my girl non-WWE stuff.

Ring of Honor is pretty different, and it takes some getting used to, but it's good stuff. I equate it to trying Indian food. It's different, but when you give it a try, it's really good! Tyler Black... tandori chicken... it's all good!

The PPV was awesome (better live!) and the main event is worth the price of the PPV alone. KENTA and Nakajima work together and make magic!
