Great stuff as always. Harley took the DQ loss in the first fall so he could put the hurt on Kenny making it easier to get the two pinfalls. Tough, handsome AND smart. What more could you ask for in your champion? You are too kind brother on_the_edge! This analysis of yours is utterly brilliant. That's gotta be the deal. Makes badass sense to me. He's a dangerous man, no two ways about it. However, something is now occurring that is going to flip Harley Race out. It caught the entire roster, and especially the champions, completely off guard - and has permanently changed ABPW. More to follow my friend. And card 10 results up in a few. Mucho Gracias! |

(A floating arena, hotel, casino and spaceport hovering in place - deep in uncharted space).

After a massive internal shakeup including new ownership...a new board of directors...dark tournaments to determine who stays and who goes...and incredibly complicated internal and external politics...ABPW enters a brand new chapter in it's short history...with smaller rosters...fewer divisions...and for unknown reasons...the three major championships (Heavyweight, Tag Team & Women's)...have now been declared vacant...without much information as to how the championships will now be determined...the sole 24 men and 12 women now in the fed...have been told that in the meantime...consider each...and every one...of their matches...as qualifying efforts...in other words..."shut up and wrestle"...

Thantos & Morpheus defeated Lou Thesz & Jimmy Snuka. (Pinfall - Morpheus pinned Snuka - TRIP TO HADES - Powerslam After Propelling Himself Off The Ropes).
Harley Race defeated "The Phenomenal" A.J. Styles. (Pinfall - PILEDRIVER primary finisher).
Summaries:
As part of a roster that felt mostly upside down, Bryan Danielson came into this first "new era" bout of his with a will to hit the ground running. At first, Danielson could do no wrong, countering and or reversing Randy Savage's power moves. But then Savage landed a ferocious Knee Drop to the temple of Danielson's head - that had a profound stunning effect on him. Enabling Savage to hit his finisher and hook the leg for the victory. Immediately after the decision, Danielson told the ref that Savage's knee pad was, "defintely loaded". Security quickly got in between Danielson and Savage, as Savage exclaimed to Danielson, "Only thing that's loaded here is ur head!" The announcers didn't quite know what to make of it but were also quick to point out that, "Savage wouldn't let the ref check his knee pad either".
Cheerleader Melissa had never faced an opponent like Rotunda before. Never an opponent that immense, and certainly never one who brought her dinner with her inside the ring itself. As long as Melissa was able to outmaneuver and provide a hit and run offense, she was in control. But when Rotunda was finally able to get her hands on her, she lit Melissa up and big time. The turning point eventually came when Melissa snapped and started Curb Stomping big chunks of undigested chicken parmigiana hero out of Rotunda's face. While executing a decisive version of her primary finisher, the effort made Melissa howl in agony, later statong that it was like, "Trying to piledrive a Toyota". Melissa was helped from the ring by Sara Del Rey - noticably clutching her ribs.
Jimmy Snuka came out of the gate strong against Thantos, but soon fell victim to the superior tag work between Thantos and Morpheus, including having cameraman Gary Walter used against him as a weapon. As a frustrated Lou Thesz kept desperately trying to persuade a very stubborn Snuka to tag out, their opponents dictated the pace of the match - and kept Thesz out of the match entirely. It's usually not a good idea to try and defeat Morpheus toe to toe. The sound of defeat took the form of the impact of Morpheus's ring shaking finisher. Soon afterwards, Thesz threw up his hands in disgust and left the ringside area without Snuka. As they made their way back to the lockers and a furious Jimmy Snuka destroyed the announcers table - a somewhat pensive and conflicted looking Thantos was told by Morpheus, "Trust me...my son...as you did once before...this fed...is ours...no matter who's...in it now".
Even people that Harley Race liked, were staying far the hell away from him now. Race had previously won the ABPW Heavyweight Championship from "The Cleaner" Kenny Omega just before the entire federation was sold, bought and radically changed. The politics behind the scenes now at ABPW would make most people simply lose their lunch. Along the same lines as Race, "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers and Gorgeous George lost their Tag Team Championship - as did She Devil with the ABPW Women's Championship. Race took his frustrations out on A.J. Styles at every opportunity. He preceded executing his finisher by first jumping straight up off the canvas while holding a bleeding Styles upside down and screamed, "Who's Next!", as he piledrived Styles.

☆ "The Monstrous" Harley Race vs Wolf - (Harley Race is on the warpath and in his opinion, which is the only one that matters, everybody is expendable. Unknown to everyone including the fed itself, the local authorities have now started surveilling him - and will be in attendance. But Wolf, one who never believes in anyone's hype, not only prefers it this way - wants to raise the stakes to a best of three falls. Unfortunately, during this fast moving situation, that status, is not known at this time).
☆ The team of - Thantos & Morpheus vs The team of - Johnny Gargano & "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush - (While Thantos has been hard at work crippling sparring partners, Morpheus has been engaged in many behind the scenes discussions, some of which, Thantos is not even aware of. Gargano and Quackenbush are not impressed, matter of fact, they are banking on the fact that they will be greatly underestimated).
☆ "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka vs. Lou Thesz - (The extremely short lived team of Thesz / Snuka never really got off the ground. Thesz blames Snuka and Snuka blames everybody. At the rambling behest of the Superfly, this bout has been signed. Will this settle their differences or is this just the start of a war?).
☆ Cheerleader Melissa vs Sensational Sherri Martel - (Nursing an undiagnosed fractured rib, Melissa is determined to not miss this opportunity to compete as scheduled. Martel knows Melissa is hurt and plans on exploiting the shit out of it).
☆ "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs Torin Caelum - (The Macho One looks to extend his winning streak to two - as P.O.W. and GWF legend Torin Caelum is determined to start his own winning ways).

Not sure if I'm going to be getting to a dialogue level, but will take it as it comes. Gone are the days of random bookings for me. Totally searching for the angles now. 🤞 that I get to roll out and write up this puppy tonight. Going to eventually reveal the 24 men and 12 women in this, but am digging a bit of mystique. Most are the same as it was before the new owners, but there's a couple of curve balls coming. Always love ur input and overall groovieness my friend! |
