Hi guy, and welcome to my Championship Wrestling from Florida fed. This is a small fed I'm running, using wrestlers that worked in the CWF between 1960 and the early 1980's. My roster is only 24 wrestlers, including 5 tag teams. I won't be using any bootlegs... just the wrestlers officially released by FG. So... no Dusty or the Funk brothers. Maybe one day.
Sadly, I don't know much about this territory. I've been watching YouTube videos on this promotion and I gotta say.... I like the "old school" wrestling I'm seeing. So, sit back, get some popcorn (and a beer) and enjoy this fed.

Championship Wrestling from Florida
Card #1
- Singles Match -
Eddie Graham defeated Red Bastien with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK
Match Notes: This was a dominant performance by Eddie Graham, who dominated from bell to bell. Bastien had no counter to Graham's offense. After Graham delivered a diving knee drop, he locked in the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK and got Bastien to tap!
- Tag Team Match -
Bob Roop & Bob Orton Jr vs. Ivan Koloff & Mr. Saito ended when Ivan Koloff defeated Bob Roop with a RUSSIAN SICKLE
Match Notes: The pairing of Koloff and Saito were too much for Roop and Orton. Mr.Saito softened Bob Roop up with heavy strikes and a devastating suplex. Saito then tagged in Koloff, who delivered the RUSSIAN SICKLE and got the win! Orton couldn't make the save.
- Singles Match -
Hiro Matsuda defeated Barry Windham with an abdominal stretch
Match Notes: This was an incredible match between two evenly matched opponents. Matsuda used numerous technical moves to ground the more agile Windham. After catching Windham with karate chops, Matsuda locked in the Indian Deathlock. When that didn't work, Matsuda applied the abdominal stretch and got the submission. What a match!
- Singles Match -
Don Muraco defeated Kevin Sullivan by DQ
Match Notes: This was a back-and-forth match, in which each man had their moments. Muraco hit the HAWAIIAN HAMMER early, only to see Sullivan kick out at two! As the match went on, Sulliva got frustrated and took the fight outside the ring. After hitting Muraco with a folding chair, Sullivan was disqualified.
- Singles Match -
Jack Brisco defeated Mike Graham with a ROLLING REVERSE CRADLE
Match Notes: Jack Brisco made short work of young Mike Graham. Graham started off hot, hitting several moves, before Brisco took over. Brisco hit a lateral guillotine to set up his ROLLING REVERSE CRADLE to secure the win. Both men shook hands after the match.

Jack and that Rolling Reverse. So many wins with it. Yup... I have to admit, he's one of my top "babyface" cards to use in any fed. He just seems to win, win and win.

Championship Wrestling from Florida Card #2
- Singles Match -
Blackjack Mulligan defeated Thunderbolt Patterson with a DQ
Match Notes: This was a solid match to start this show. Mulligan took over early, using punches and chokes on Patterson. After a lariat, Patterson bailed out of the ring and a wild brawl ensued. Patterson ended up getting disqualified after ramming Mulligan into the ring post. The referee raised a dazed Mulligan's hand as Patterson stomped towards the back in disgust.
- Singles Match -
Bobby Shane defeated Jerry Brisco with a running lariat
Match Notes: This was an exciting match as each man played to their strengths. Brisco used scientific moves to frustrate Shand and Shane used every dirty tactic he knew to punish Brisco. As the time limit wound down, Brisco threw Shane into the turnbuckle. Shane surprised Brisco as he bounced out of the corner with a running lariat and got the quick pin.
- Tag Team Match -
Mike Graham & Kevin Sullivan vs. The Blonde Bombers ended when Pat Patterson defeated Mike Graham with a BOMBS AWAY
Match Notes: The veteran team of Stevens & Patterson proved too much for young Mike Graham and Kevin Sullivan. The Bombers used quick tags and hard-hitting moves to batter their opponents. With the match firmly in hand, Patterson hit his BOMBS AWAY knee drop to get the win. The Blonde Bombers look impressive.
- Singles Match -
Wahoo McDaniel defeated Eric the Red with a FALLING CHOP
Match Notes: This was a "squash" match as Wahoo McDaniel dominated this contest. Wahoo used a verticle suplex, then a backbreaker before delivering another verticle suplex to hurt the journeyman wrestler. After that, McDaniel delivered a FALLING CHOP and got the 1, 2.... 3.
- Singles Match -
Harley Race defeated Mr. Saito with an Indian Deathlock
Match Notes: Harley Race looked strong in this match as he destroyed Mr. Saito. Race hit the veteran Saito with suplexes, a piledriver and stiff punches before applying the Indian Deathlock. Mr. Saito had no choice but to submit.

Great minds think alike. I just ran my battle royale for my Florida exclusive territory the other night. I'm biased a bit (see avatar), but I think Florida is still an underappreciated territory.

Totally agree! The amount of talent passing through Florida on their way to Charlotte and New York is staggering. The CWF and AWA promotions are widely underrated and overlooked.

Championship Wrestling from Florida Card #3
- Singles Match -
Bob Roop defeated Ivan Koloff with a SHOULDER BREAKER
Match Notes: This match saw everything, power moves, chain wrestling as well as numerous near falls. Koloff dominated early, using high impact moves to keep Roop down. Roop wouldn't quit though and answered with power moves of his own. After a spinning neckbreaker, Roop delivered his SHOULDER BREAKER to get the win.
- Singles Match -
Pat Patterson defeated Tully Blanchard with a BOMBS AWAY
Match Notes: This was a quick match as Patterson took the inexperienced Blanchard to school. Patterson dominated this contest and hit his devastating BOMBS AWAY knee drop to seal the victory!
- Tag Team Match -
The Brisco Brothers def. Barry Windham & Mike Rotundo by DQ
Match Notes: This was a tough match which saw both tag teams shine. The younger Windham & Rotunda fought hard, but Jack and Jerry put on a wrestling clinic. Frustrated, Barry Windham slammed Jerry Brisco's head into the announce table (much to Gordon Solie's surprise) and was disqualified. What a shame... would have loved to see this match end in the ring.
- Singles Match -
Eddie Graham defeated Ray Stevens with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK
Match Notes: Eddie Graham keeps winning. Graham used the "hardest punches in wrestling" to wear down Stevens. Once down, Eddie locked in the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK and forced Stevens to tap! Wow...
- Singles Match -
Johnny Valentine defeated Red Bastien with an ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER
Match Notes: Red Bastien started off like a house on fire, hitting Valentine with punches, a flying head scissor and pinpoint accurate dropkicks. Valentine weathered the assault, delivered Three ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHERS to beat Bastien. This was a short match with tons of action and near falls. Solid Main Event...
- Interview -
Gordon Solie is handed a note to read after the Main Event...
"Friends, I have just been handed this announcement. The CWF Championship Committee has stated that an 8-man tournament will begin next week to determine the first ever NWA Florida Heavyweight Champion. Next week, here in Tampa, we will learn the participants as well as the matchups. Whoa... this is big news. Fans, tune in next week for all the tournament action!"
