Maybe under rated is the wrong term but do you have set up a match thinking it will be a good squash match for someone or help bolster their record only for the dice to take you on an absolute roller coaster and roll a 5 star match?
It doesn't happen too often for me but I love those matches and the unexpected fun of them

No examples come to mind right now but it has happened. I know at least once or twice I have finished a match and thought "man, I should have made that the main event". It is usually a nice surprise. Unless the guy I wanted to win loses and kind of misses up momentum going into another match and/or storyline.

It's definitely a gift and a curse from the dice, especially if they one you want to win loses and you're having to try to come up with something to build the story. I got lucky with my one today, neither guy was in a feud but think this will lead to a small feud for them. On the flip side, I've had matches I think will go long and they finish on the first pin, first that comes to mind was when I debuted the King's of Wrestling in aew against the bucks. first pin attempt on Hero and he rolled snake eyes. Decided to run an injury angle off it to explain the quick finish |

Obviously, you can have plan that goes awry but its a dice game and what are you going to do next when something weird happens? its not just book your feuds and its smooth sailing. That would be boring imo. |

Definitely have had a few matches that were supposed to be squashes and then went wild.

I've had this with talent I didn't expect to put up such a fight that they would get rewarded with a TV or US title match or even a number one contenders match for a higher title just to make it interesting. It is usually once a title comes into the picture that the squash match happens. But the ride is fun for me and for the "fans" inside the wrestling universe I am playing in across my various feds.

The black and white U.S. Male had a crazy singles run in my fed. I gave him a single match run and he took it to two separate championship challenges. For some reason his matches were always good and he pushed champions to the limit. I should have pushed him more in hindsight. His number one contender matches were always better than the main event. Good times.

Funny, I just had a fantastic match bewteen Dan Severn and Masked Superstar. Didn't have high hopes for the match and there was no storyline going in. However, the match ended up being the best in my recent memory.
