I started listening to this episide today while doing some errands (library, Petco to get some things for Ahsoka with a gift card somebody gave me, lunch.)
According to the temperature readout in my truck, it was 122 degrees the other day but it turns out my truck might have been off a little as somebody told me the official high that day was only 120 degrees.
Nevertheless it has been really hot here even by Las Vegas standards as we just broke a local record with 7 straight days at 115 degrees. www.msn.com/en-us/weather/topstories/las-vegas-sees-record-breaking-7-consecutive-days-of-scorching-temperatures-115-degrees-or-higher/ar-BB1pUGxc
But last night there was a brief thunderstorm and it has cooled down a little.
I am surprised the WWE did not do a steel cage blowoff match between Snuka and Piper. Snuka had some classic steel cage matches with Don Muraco and Bob Backlund and a cage match IMO would have been perfect for the nature of the Snuka-Piper feed. Plus, although at that point I would have personally booked Piper to win the feud against Snuka, in a steel cage there are definitely ways to end a feud and protect the other wrestler at the same time even though Piper did not like to lose.
I hope to continue listening to more of this episode later today.
The only thing about my upcoming Las Vegas trip that I'm not looking forward to is the heat. We've been getting 32-33 degrees Celsius up here in Vancouver the past few weeks and that's already too warm for me. LOL!
Whenever I visit a new city I love exploring it on foot but I don't think I'll be doing that in Vegas next month because of the temperature; I've never taken Uber/Lyft in my life but I think I'll be getting very familiar with them during this trip. However, with the exception of the Aviators game I'm going to with Zeke I don't see myself being outside for an extended period of time so I don't think the heat will be too much of a factor. (I'm assuming all the public buildings in the city have A/C)
I never understood why Piper refused to put over other wrestlers. I know he always said in interviews it was because he had a family to feed but so did lots of other guys. If everyone in the business who had kids refused to lose and take home the lesser purse we'd end up with nothing but double-dq finishes. I love Piper and I heard he was one of the nicest wrestlers to meet but his logic was severely flawed on that one.
