As a play my most recent 2090 cards (I hope the color re-prints continue at some point, btw... especially sine maybe of the sets in the middle of GWF history aren't available at all)... I find myself modernizing/re-imagining some of the moves to fit wrestling today.
For example, I never loved the Ambush needing Guile for Bounty Hunter, so that has become the Buckshot Lariat in my mind Spike's Super Destroyer is now a Canadian Destroyer ala Dustin Rhodes (Spike actually makes it look good!)
Anyone else do this? What are some of your 'evolved' moves.

Some good choices.....those early sets especially even for the flavor moves could use some updates.
I haven't thought about it but will probably make some changes. One I'm thinking is making the Death Vise a neck hang slam.

I tend to see wrestling as having "reset" itself during its period of banishment, so Classics-era guys use more old-school movesets and it explains why things like atomic drops and piledrivers are finishers in 2087. As thing advance in both real wrestling and the GWF, you see more and more new moves coming in. I still remember getting the 2096 Thantos update and being pumped that he had both a DDT and a power bomb on his card--I think the first guy to have either of those moves.
So I don't tend to update much--the one change is Whiplash's THUMBSCREW which will always be an Asiatic/Oriental Spike submission and not just pulling on the thumb. Actually I think some of the later reference material calls the Matador's BULLWHIP a DDT as well, but I never interpreted it as being anything other than a bulldog, which makes way more sense for the Matador's style and background.

I don't really look at updating moves cause the game was created in 1987 no matter what the game year was, as long as it evolves with the game, that's fine.. but also keeping track of names you created just to add your own flavor isn't really my thing. Lot to keep track of already.
