Will there be 2087 color reprints I don't claim to know for sure but, if the 2087 color sets are sold out, I would think they would be reprinted as people who play and complete Early Classics would probably like to continue playing in color afterward so there should be some demand.

I wish they would do all the invasion black and white sets as well as the war games sets. I would like to collect and start playing black and white cotg.

It amazes me how often this subject comes up and there is never any kind of real response from anyone at Filsinger Games as to why there are actually out of print sets. I completely understand cards that have at title of "special or limited" edition aren't reprinted but I can't think of any actual reason as to why game sets themselves should be out of print. It seems like money left on the table to me.
I hear from some many promoters that "I don't really want to start champions since I can't get the whole experience and only read about what could have been in my promotion".
I truly wished I understood the reasoning behind the choices made to not even attempt to reprint any of the older B&W sets. At the very least this could be communicated to "the loyal promoters" that have asked time and time again about this types of issues so it could finally be address and either be resolved by reprinting out of stock sets or letting promoters know there is no chance of any reprint options.
Again this comes down to communication and that's something that's been sorely lacking for the last few years between Filsinger games and it's customer base.

One key point for me is that I can’t play champions all the way through because 2119 is OOP. I think that this is more of a situation of “if” the reprinted sets will sell. If they don’t then what little resources filsinger has will be wasted. So they don’t reprint said sets. Right now there are promoter prime sets that are OOP and that boggles the mind. Some ROH sets are OOP but we can get bootlegs for those wrestlers in a pinch.

I know nothing about the why's but this is America so I'm free to speculate.
My guess a big part of the reason that early sets go out of print is how they were set up to printed originally. The entire printing industry has changed. Every set now is done digitally, the files are delivered digitally and printed digitally. I would wager that a majority of those black and white sets were done the 'traditional' way where individual drawings were laid out on paper and printed on equipment that is no longer readily available.
Not saying it's impossible to reprint but the cost/time it would take to get those old set originals ready for digital printing or to track down a printer who prints traditionally might be prohibitive. It's a little more involved that just scanning the cards in.
But that's all a guess.
